Can someone leave a coil of rope in Bernie’s cell?

NY Post

The 23-year-old son of the accountant who helped Bernie Madoff hide his Ponzi scheme shot himself in his apartment in Ohio, police said yesterday.

Jeremy Friehling’s shocking suicide comes two years after Madoff’s son, Mark, hanged himself with a dog leash in his family’s SoHo apartment on the second anniversary of his father’s arrest.

Friehling was the son of embattled accountant David Friehling, who pleaded guilty in 2009 to helping conceal Madoff’s $65 billion Ponzi scheme.

Faculty advisers at Ohio State University, where Friehling was a medical student, became concerned after he wrote suicidal posts on Facebook, according to Columbus Police Homicide.

They went to check on him on Thursday, but Friehling didn’t answer. Police officers forced their way into the apartment and found him dead with a self-inflicted gunshot wound.

Well, it is sad that this young man felt he had to take his own life. Lost souls are found in all levels of society.

As for Bernie – he harmed a lot of people. But in comparison to what Obama and the others are doing to ruin our economy and freedom. Bernie was a petty pickpocket. Bernie screwed thousands. Obama and company are screwing and entire nation.

So I guess the rumors of the Madoff-Friehling Productions, LLC backing the remake of the TV series “Dynasty” is off….

I suspect that maybe there were other things going wrong in this young man’s life that caused this. While I’m sure that being the son of the accountant that helped Madoff didn’t help it probably wasn’t the cause. In any event I hope he found the peace in the hands of God that he couldn’t find here.

My heart goes out to this family. Many years ago our oldest son, 19 and in his third year of college, came home for the Christmas holidays (he was attending school in another city), went into the woods with his dad’s shotgun, screamed and shot himself to death. Mom and Dad heard it all – he left us with an enduring memory! What a pity this young man couldn’t resolve this while alive. God bless this family – their agony is just beginning. Four months after Chuck’s death I wrote a booklet, GRIEF, which went into a worldwide ministry. It’s now available on Internet.

Guy must’ve had other issues. It’s not like the name Friehling became a household word synonymous with criminal activity like Madoff did.

As for Madoff’s son, I seem to remember that Al Capone’s “good” son simply changed his name and lived a good, clean life until he died not long ago.
