(You didn’t think Obamacare was free, did you?)

Home - by - November 17, 2012 - 22:00 America/New_York - 14 Comments

Here are just some of the taxes Obamacare will be levying.
  • Flexible Spending Account contributions will be capped at $2,500. Currently, there is no tax-related limit on how much you can set aside pre-tax to pay for medical expenses. Next year, there will be. If you have been socking away, say, $10,000 in your FSA to pay medical bills, you’ll have to cut that to $2,500. (ATR.org)
  • The itemized-deduction hurdle for medical expenses is going up to 10% of adjusted gross income. Right now, any medical expenses over 7.5% of AGI are deductible. Next year, that hurdle will be 10%. (ATR.org)
  • The penalty on non-medical withdrawals from Healthcare Savings Accounts is now 20% instead of 10%. That’s twice the penalty that applies to annuities, IRAs, and other tax-free vehicles. (ATR.org)
  • A 40% tax on “Cadillac Health Care Plans” starting in 2018.Those whose employers pay for all or most of comprehensive healthcare plans (costing $10,200 for an individual or $27,500 for families) will have to pay a 40% tax on the amount their employer pays. The 2018 start date is said to have been a gift to unions, which often have comprehensive plans. (ATR.org)
  • A”Medicine Cabinet Tax” that eliminates the ability to pay for over-the-counter medicines from a pre-tax Flexible Spending Account. This started in January 2011. (ATR.org)
  • A “penalty” tax for those who don’t buy health insurance. This will phase in from 2014-2016. It will range from $695 per person to about $4,700 per person, depending on your income. (More details here.)
  • A tax on medical devices costing more than $100. Starting in 2013, medical device manufacturers will have to pay a 2.3% excise tax on medical equipment. This is expected to raise the cost of medical procedures. (Breitbart.com)

This is going to get much worse. Times the power of 100.

I still think they cheated. They only took votes for Obama. Romneys votes were thrown out.

Barack on national tv said “my healthcare will not cost any taxpayer 1 single dime out of pocket”

Maybe he meant to say anyone who doesn’t pay taxes.

There is a maxim that “if you think something’s expensive now, just wait and see how expensive it will be when it’s free.”

The medical expense deductible was 10% in 2009 and before. It was lowered to 7.5% as part of Obamacare.

      Wow! Two years.

I wanted to comment on this the worser I ever wanted to comment on anything but I began to realize my comment was going to end up so far down at the bottom of the page your arrow button would probably fail before you could scroll all the way down to where you might find what I wrote which wouldn’t have been my fault because you should have used the Page Down key which would be 30 times more efficient give or take a hundred depending on how big your monitor is.

The part I liked the best was where I said ‘I have only read the blank pages so far. They’re going to end up being the stickler and they don’t look good so far considering the blank stares I see descending upon…’ Actually only the first line in the previous single quotes up to the period was in what I wrote before and to the dot dot dot is new compared to that.

One problem and I don’t like to tell people what to do, if I did I would probably have a government job and consider what I am now since I don’t have one to be lesser and worthless as a pursuit even if it did make me happy so I would essentially stop myself. Good thing the Designer of the Universe had better ideas than NASA! Good news for Him He didn’t consider space travel to be anything but an act of desperation for beings who determined either fire, water or air were more important than the others and began an eliminative process not unlike taking a crap. Same results ultimately.

My suggestion is for you to increase the buffer in this text box. Consider the latest old saying no one has said before but probably have I wouldn’t know, I’m giving up reading for writing, “A terrabyte is yesterday’s gigabyte!”

I’ll pare down my previous unposted fumation (two misspelled words in a row!) and wait till another Obamacare rant comes forth to insert my edited corollary. If you want to call it that. BS is fine. Sorry you missed the entertaining thoughts that streaked through my mind while I was looking up corollary’s spelling. I’ll write them down sometime else and probably somewhere else if I don’t forget them which is already about a done deal but I may be able to remember. Worth it but perhaps only IMO (in my opinion) TWAJ (that was a joke) If you tell me you knew what TWAJ was I’ll challenge you to prove it!

Anyway, I could sit here and type all day. It is day isn’t it? But my wife thinks my time will be better spent putting up fence posts so the fox won’t eat the chickens. (I don’t know what it means but if you do congratulations, you’re smarter than me till you tell me and I get to confuse you about it… that was a good one. I should feel good about the finishing the fence posts but I know what’s next on her list. I got a 12 foot ladder so now I can get up to the top of the stack of papers and see what it is. It’s amazing at least to me which isn’t saying much whatever that means, should be writing much but she’s starting the ‘what are you doing in front of that computer’ rig-a-ma-roll. Mainly because she’s finished being in front of her computer already because her friends are more boring than a bunch of people like visit here.

Hey! Before I go! Or before I might go! This could be the middle or the beginning of this rant, hopefully the end. I would like to express my sincere appreciation to the producers of this fine parody of modern Life, at least the part of modern Life that’s left circling the drain, which explains the bad taste often exhibited which doesn’t bother me in the least and whoever it bothers deserves being bothered even if their children like them. No big feat. Donate to these people so if they live close enough (next door?)for me to consider extending my good will in a visit to them they will have beer. I gave 2 cents the other day but you might want to consider more than 35 cents unless your wife can call the bank and get a refund to your bank account somehow for the oppressive handling charges of credit cards. She thinks it makes since but I’m sure she just wears them down like she does me. Back to the Archie/Edith matrix! Hope your day is as happy as mine. Hope nobody else notices. Have something to use as an excuse for your laughing. That plastic doo-doo will work in a pinch but they might wonder why you laugh at doo-doo so get some that looks plastic! Now that one made me laugh! Coming Honey! That bitch! I’m glad she thinks I love her and she’s always right! One more thought! One more thought! Go where? Great! Are you sure they are still open?

I left a ‘than’ out. Don’t send me bad email about it. If you can find it I honestly will give you $5.00 but only if you PayPal me $25.00. It’s in the first sentence.

Oh, and at the end here’s a rewrite, “That bitch! I’m glad she thinks I love her which I must because she’s always right!”

      I do.
