Thaw Up For Auction
This is the first painting I’ve produced with the sig line BigFurHat.
It might be the last. I may die in my sleep tonight. Then someone will really have lucked out.
Let the bidding begin. My intent is to possibly have a bidding war and I make lots of money.
The painting is 2′ x 3′, acrylic on canvas. It comes unframed. I reserve the right to pull the auction down if my reserve isn’t met. I ain’t tellin’ ya what the reserve is.
UPDATE: The reserve has been met.
The painting is titled: Thaw
The auction closes on Tuesday, 9PM ET.

I didn’t know you could paint. That is good!
But again, I’d have to track down one of my kids and force them to make a Paypal payment because they won’t let me do online payments in the witness protection program.

…and a slightly used snow shovel… Very slightly used, I live in NC remember!
Seriously though, beautiful painting dude. I wish I could afford to bid on it, but I doubt my kids could eat it so it’s off my priorities list. For now anyway… Hope you make a shitpot load of money though! Then Obama can tax your rich ass and eliminate the deficit… oh wait

Great description, Tuesday!! Like they’re looking around and at each other “who goes there?”
I’ll start the bidding at 30 American dollars. Then again, I believe my Altoids are stronger than the dollar.

OK, I’ll start the bidding at $100. I know it’s worth way more than that, but I’ll just get the ball rolling. Stinkin’ Obamaconomy.

Mr. Hat, Is it commie art? Isn’t that “the little red school house”? I get it, it’s a romantic recollection of communism “as it is supposed to work” and now the social climate is “thaw” – ing in reception to it. Right?
(Nice work, BTW.)

That picture looks nice, but I think it needs more naked women in it, maybe some big block Chevys too, doing burn-outs, in the woods.
I’m no art scholar, I just know what I like.

Now see? Mr Happy is to to something… I might consider letting the kids fend for themselves a bit if there were nekkid womerns, 400s, and 454s involved… although, the bid is already over $100. I can buy a whole lotta potted meat and loaf bread for that. And if I can convince them that canned cat food is basically the same thing… I could feed em a long time to $100 !!!

Impressive art work Big Fur !
How about a trade for an HP 600 Designjet plotter? 24 or 36 inch rolls, black ink, busted translucent lid – but rigged to work when you stick a pen in the switch hole that the lid is supposed to trigger. Value, about $225 minus $50 for new ink cartridges. Great for blue prints or drafting projects.
You would have to pick it up since you don’t have an address for me to ship it to (or send a check to).

I don’t appreciate good art but out of respect for your work, $174. That may go up as other’s continue the bidding. Rest assured, I’ll be right in there.

@BFH Does the work come framed with a letter of authenticity by the artist or some other means of proving providence? I probably watch too much Antic Road Show, but they seem to put some weight on those extras when valuing artwork.
I’d put a bid in for it now but you are already out of my price range until Uncle Sam gives me my hard earned money back in the Spring.
Good luck with the auction.
If I might make a suggestion for a future work – maybe Obama’s dead body getting gang raped by a spontaneous crowd of protesters.
Or better yet Obama and Mooschelle getting the Mussolini send off in front of the WH fence. Something like this

This is beautiful and alive. I see something profound in the use of light, the source of warmth, the lean of the trees, the colors. It actually makes me recall Pascal Adolphe Jean Dagnun-Bouveret’s Christ and the Disciples at Emmaus. sincerely
