Sen. Murray (D)imwitt WA: Can’t guarantee 2014 budget
Sen. Patty Murray (D-Wash.) confirmed Thursday that she will seek the chairmanship of the Senate Budget Committee next year but told The Hill that she cannot commit to doing a budget.
This opens up the possibility that Senate Democrats will avoiding passing a budget resolution for the fourth year in a row.
The last time the Senate passed a standalone budget resolution was in 2009.
This past year, Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid (D-Nev.) said a budget was not necessary because the top-line spending number for appropriations was set in the August 2011 debt-ceiling deal.
Murray said that an agreement to avoid the “fiscal cliff,” the looming $600 billion in tax increases and spending cuts set to strike in January, could preclude having to pass a Senate budget next year.
“I am committed to working with our committee and with our Congress to put a budget in place but there are a lot of questions in front of us: What happens in the next two weeks, six weeks, year? Does the White House and the leadership come together on some solution to the budget that we have right now that precludes a budget being written next year?” she said. “I have no idea.”

Seriously? How many of us would have our jobs if we repeatedly failed to do the tasks that we were hired to do? The Senate has not done it’s job for how long and we reward them by relecting them?
Who is more incompetent the Senate or us voters?
Throw every bum out next round.

I already tried that with my bills years ago…y’know close your eyes, cover your ears, and repeat “lalalalalalalalalalalalalalalalala” real loud…it doesn’t work.

She also can’t walk and chew bubble gum either, so this is really not a surprise. She is pretty much considered the dimmest bulb in the senate. Sad she is from my state.

Seriously, why bother even having a Senate Budget Committee? Even without a Senate budget, the Federal government has managed to add more than a trillion dollars a year to the national debt so clearly, a budget committee serves no function.

@Commissar M — The reason for a budget committee is for it to do its best to limit spending; i.e., put the gov’t on a budget. The whole point of the demmorhoids not passing a budget is so Barack F*ing Obama can spend all he likes.
It’s part of the plan. As a taxpayer you should know by now to just shut up and open your bank account. Barry has allies to screw, citizens to kill, and socialism to grow.

In the business I retired from I was forced to deal with her (i.e. suck up for govt. contracts). Saying she’s dim is a complement. Combine that with a leftist ideology and she’s very dangerous.

Ditto to what @DaPenguin @NavySquid said. I can’t believe who this state votes for. I’m not represented by anyone.
Add Suzan DelBene to this estrogen brain trust with Murray and Cantwell. She’s all about fair share, hatin’ on the tea party and her voice is so um, lyrical.

Pretty clear what our response SHOULD be. You don’t make a budget, we don’t pay any taxes.

Its like the Demorrhoids are willful children who will keep defying the citizens of this nation and doing stupid shit until someone finally disciplines them. Putting this idiot in charge of a critical committee is a clear signal that they won’t live within a budget.
Unfortunately, a 1/3rd of the voting public are also like spoiled chilern and another 1/4 are willfully ignorant. They won’t hold the Spoiledbratocrats responsible until it finally hits them in their own personal pocket books which drags the rest of us down.

I live in Eastern Wash. and Patty Murray is an embarassment to all of us over here as well as the rest of Wash. state and the nation. I’d bet Henry Jackson is rolling over in his grave wondering what happened to us here in this beautiful state. Maria Cantwell ain’t so great either. We deserve better than the Senator who once proposed a 10,000% tax on bullets. Just once, again in my life I’d like to see a decent Senator elected in this state and not just another left wing hack.
