The Left Picks a Bone With Papa John’s Pizza

Papa John’s Pizza To Raise Prices Because Of Obamacare, CEO John Schnatter Says
After President Obama’s health care law takes full effect, the slogan for national pizza chain Papa John’s may need an update. Instead of, “Better ingredients. Better Pizza,” may we suggest, “Better health care. Pricier pizza.”
Papa John’s CEO John Schnatter says that Obamacare will result in a $0.11 to $0.14 price increase per pizza, or $0.15 to $0.20 cents per order, Pizza Marketplace, a trade publication, reports.
Under Obamacare, the company, which is the third-largest pizza takeout and delivery chain in the United States, will have to offer health care coverage to more of its 16,500 total employees or pay a penalty to the government.
One Papa John’s franchise owner in Texas, Judy Nichols, says the law could interfere with her ability to open more restaurants.
“I have two options, I can stop offering coverage and pay the $2,000 fine, or I could keep my number of staff under 50 so the mandate doesn’t apply,” she told Legal Newsline. Nichols added that the law may cost her between $20,000 to $30,000 extra in taxes. “Obamacare is making me think about cutting jobs instead,” she said.

Hey, Mo.
Just wait until YOUR employer decides to cut back hours or employees and tells you it’s because of ObamaTax. When you can’t pay all of your bills because, instead of working 40 hours a week, you’ll be working 27 (just under the ObamaTax minimum). And those 27 hours will be more than unemployment by just enough so that getting layed-off or fired will be worse.
Welcome to the party, pal!

These people are very stupid when it comes to business.
A $5 part added to a car is a big thing to a car company, 15 cents on a $9 pizza is huge.
Tell them to take a few classes.

We make fun of ObamaPhone lady, but there are many, many people equally (or more) stupid than her. ObamaCare, or any other left wing program, is not free – someone pays the bill, and usually everyone pays part of the bill. This multi-trillion dollar boondoggle will result in higher prices and/or less products and services, and higher prices and/or less products and services will result in higher unemployment or underemployment.
I suppose what really pisses me off about these people is that most of them know that there is no free lunch; however, they are banking on the fact that someone else will pay the freight. Higher taxes? Not a problem – I’m not rich so go for it. Free health care? Sounds good – some other sucker will pay for it. Well, fool, the fact of the matter is that as the idiot in the room, you will end up paying for those freebies whether you think so or not.

It will be interesting to see the changes in tune of the HuffPo comments when reality hits.

Looks like Papa John’s just moved to the front of the list of businesses we will be supporting.

Mr. Pinko is that stamp up side down? It should be. I get my Pizza from Ill Villiageo in Suffern. The prick up’s his prices when the wind changes direction. $2.25 per plain slice. When I ate(eat)
my first pizza back in 1959 I got a pizza slice and a coke for .25 Cents . Ah the good old days. 15 Cent beers, 15 cent subway ride. a nickle on the Staten Island Ferry. And the great ads in those days:
“Scheafer is the one beer to have, when you’re havin more than one.”
“My beer is Reingold the dry beer you can find it whereever you buy beer.”
“Hey get your cold beer, hey get your Ballantine.”
Remember Bert and Harry Piel, For Piels beer.
How about “the beer that made Miwalkie famous.”
I know I’m fucking crazy, but Benghazi has me going apeshit.

@MaryfromMarin — Yep. When their healthcare plan goes out of business (with the resulting loss of taxpaying jobs) and they have to get it from the gov’t, wait until they find out they can’t have “their” doctor. Just something as simple as that and the demmorhoids will blame BigHealth for all their problems.
It’s never the fault of socialism.

I love pizza — almost any kind will do and I will eat my weight in it, I am not too picky either. Definitely not a pizza snob, I even like the cheap frozen pizzas.
That said, I have had Papa John’s once — it was disgustingly bad. That was many years ago and I have never been back.
But, with his support of Romney and speaking the truth about Obamacare, I guess I will have to patronize them again.

Like most big franchise pizza, Papa John’s is OK but nothing special. However, I’ll do my damnedest to support them and other companies who have the temerity to point out what a train wreck this fucking Obamacare is for every sector of the economy.

Remember also that Papa John’s was the first big company to pull advertising from Wonkette after they attacked Trig Palin.
@Commissar If you’re not that thrilled with their pizza try their chicken wings. They’re very good.
