Los Angeles and the Left To Implement Brainlessness On Every Day That Ends in a “Y”

CNS-

The Los Angeles City Council is urging all residents to observe “meatless Mondays” from now on.

A resolution adopted on Oct. 24 reads: “Be it resolved, that the Council of the City of Los Angeles hereby declares all Mondays as ‘Meatless Mondays’ in support of comprehensive sustainability efforts as well as to further encourage residents to eat a more varied plant-based diet to protect their health and protect animals.”

Councilwoman Jan Perry, who introduced the resolution, also wants to ban new fast-food restaurants in South Los Angeles.

“While this is a symbolic gesture, it is asking people to think about the food choices they make. Eating less meat can reverse some of our nation’s most common illnesses,” press reports quoted Perry as saying.

The resolution makes 15 points in support of meatless Mondays, including U.N. recognition that “livestock are one of the most significant contributors to today’s most serious environmental problems.”

I get infuriated every time I see examples of elected officials delving into such personal matters and ignoring real issues. They preach that a woman has a right to do what she wants with her own body when she is carrying another human being in her, but then restrict our lives when it truly is ” our own bodies” Would someone force them to explain the absolute hypricosy of such thinking?

“While this is a symbolic gesture” …

… that doesn’t necessarily mean this won’t be mandatory a year from now

Even Catholics gave up meatless Friday’s post Vatican II. Of course, they’ve given up on everything except sandals and speghetti strap blouse with conical bra and matching mini peasant dress.

By a strange coincidence, Firehouse Subs has “Meatball Mondays”. If there are any conservatives in the LA area, you now know where to eat lunch and/or dinner on Mondays.

I think the red, meat producing states ought to help them out and stop all shipments of meat into California.

I’m so glad that LA is running like a well-oiled machine so that the City council has nothing better to do than dream up this shit.

@even steven, Noooooo! there are a few of us meatasauruses left in Commifornia! Yesterday, we saw one of the most stupid bumper stickers ever: “Peace begins at the table. Eat vegan!”

During the next four years, there will be many households who will, by necessity not decree, be forced to have “meatless Mondays”. Obamameatless Mondays.

Great! It’ll just mean that when the feds come in to take over completely the populace will be just that more anemic and weak. Why would anyone choose to live in that state? Even Dennis Miller isn’t a canary in the coal mine any more.

Notice they also want to ban any new fast-food restaurants in South LA. Just what this economy needs, preventing new business ventures (and employment) by Gov’t decree.

They want to “encourage residents to eat a more varied plant-based diet…”

    Why don’t they just WAIT?
People will be eating weeds and tree bark soon enough, anyway.
Along with their government-issue protein pellet.

I guess this is going to end up like Cuba where meals on a few days a week contain “some kind of meat.”

And I would like to say to the LA City Council — thank you for the look vorwarts, Comrades.

Brought to you by the same geographic location that passed Proposition B – which requires porn stars to wear condoms. No longer will Sindee Schtupmedeep have to spend sleepless nights wondering which one of her co-workers got her pregnant on the set of “Sixty or Seventy for Sindee.” And Biff Bigone can remove work related STDs from his list of things to worry about – things like drug abuse, mental problems or HIV from his secret gig as a homosexual gigolo.

We are only thinking of you, America.

Is there a job description for L.A. City Council members, or do they just wing it? I vote for the latter.
