R. Spencer is an off the charts brilliant gentleman. If you get ever have an opportunity to hear him speak go, listen and learn.
He’s a great man.

Thanks for the posting this interview BFH. I’m casting about now looking for methods of mental escapism and to that end watched Jimmy Stewart in “The FBI Story” last night. I was curious about the facts of the bombing of the airplane carried out by a disgruntled son who wanted to kill his mother and collect on her insurance. That took me to Wikipedia and then I looked up a link to the story in “Life” magazine published in 1955. The whole magazine is online. I think some of you will be surprised by the contents. There’s stories about the D’s and R’s and an advert with George Romney for American Motors. Every generation has its troubles, but I wish I could time travel back to the ’50s. Things *were* simpler then. Check out the article about American conservatives and how they sought to get their message out.

Oh, and “The FBI Story” is worth watching, too.

i need a reason to not react, but I dont see a future.
this has never been the case for me, i have always been able to look forward and make adjustments for the problems I couldn’t overcome or get around. But now I dont see a future, I dont have a way forward.
and, to quote the big bang theory, future generations will condemn you for not having presented me with a less … . . . . messy way to express myself.
I dont feel good and dont expect too any time soon.

Abigail
Well, I’m a huge fan of Brubeck, Davis, Getz, large servings of Irish Whiskey, patriotism, clean kids, large sedans, women in dresses, dressing for church and dinner, borderline painful handshakes, and said handshakes being better than any contract, male camaraderie, female camaraderie (not the same thing), hearty laughter, trust, Rotary, gingham skirts, camel hair topcoats, the imagination that flourishes without 24/7 cable or X-box or porno, eating wholesome food in a house filled with love with kids you’re proud of because you held them to the best standards, but then again, there’s nobody else you’d rather be with, the love of a wife who works her buns off making sure you’ve got those kids and a clean awesome home and attends to happy, healthy older relatives, but also still finds the time to make sure that that my efforts out there in the world of shit are acknowledged and appreciated and augmented with a well-timed Manhattan on the counter after a particularly rough day…
Like you, I’m pretty sure these aren’t my times. I’m only 50. Too young to qualify for any of the “Entitlements” we’ve been promised…but a contributor to said entitlements for nearly 30 years nonetheless.
In some small way, though, corny as it is, I keep the 50′s alive, even though I never really knew them. Everyone needs a dream, right? And despite all of the nonsense, most of the time I’m living mine. And I will continue to do the best I can.
Hope…Springs eternal!

“Take back the culture.” I think one of our hopes with the election of Mitt Romney was that we would see something we could generally count on, the pendulum swinging back in the other direction; that our culture would see a recovery of basic virtue and decency as well as a recovery of our economic situation. Alas, I think most of my grief comes from loss of the former. We’re at that point now, it seems apparent, that even if people understand the basic difference between right and wrong, they don’t tie it to the political or the economic. Society’s culture is unhitched from the things that gave rise to it. It’s a force of its own operating in the world under its own power.
Spencer’s comment that conservatives are too willing to shun one of its member groups (usually over nits) leaves us atomized and impotent. Suppose someone were to come up with the basic tenets of conservatism with which all conservatives could agree? Using that as our basis, and leaving out anything else that would cause bashing each other over the head with the oars in our leaky life boat, could we create a Congress of the conservative movement that can more swiftly respond to this crisis of culture?
It doesn’t need to take 30-60 years to change this.

I’ve long appreciated Robert’s insightful, well-reasoned (and researched) views on Islam, and was glad to hear his take on our present, er, national “predicament”.

I have to disagree with Spencer on Romney being cooked after the 3rd debate. IF the elections were FAIR & conducted without being overrun with rampant FRAUD, the map would have looked a lot like Reagan’s on election night. It was conducted like a banana republic & stolen plain & simple. Someone a few days ago in a blog I was at, was directing attention to a twitter group that was massive in size & who’s cause it was to have each member voting 10 times! We can’t compete with that & even when we have ID laws, we cannot compete with laws like card check that the democrats are putting in place right now. I’m afraid it’s looking like our goose is cooked if that happens. We must push back against laws that are that unconstitutional & even undemocratic like that. No one should be made to vote on a candidate they don’t support for fear of workplace reprisal.
As far as Romney I agree that his debate wasn’t great during the 3rd debate, I believe in reaction to the studies showing women found him too combative in the first 2. I did think Romney needed to learn much more about jihadis, but with the awesome team of advisers he had assembled for his with foreign policy / military issues, I thought he’d be OK.
Everything else Spencer says, as usual is 100% spot on. We do need to educate everyone we know & ask them to pay it forward about Islam. Every Bible believer only need to start with the fact it’s the beast of scripture. That opens up a lot of desire to study it as prophecy written thousands of years before Muhammad couldn’t have been more accurate.

Get the kids, I say.
- Make cool cartoons
- Make TV shows (even just for YouTube) of attractive, cool people
- Make propaganda
- Become a teacher
- Indoctrinate your own children with every breath
BONUS:
Encourage every liberal to have a gay marriage, use birth control always, and if pregnant, abort every child. We will simply out-breed them in one generation.
**OK I was kidding about the abortions, but can you see what they have set themselves up for?

good interview with Mr. Spencer
I have been calmed, a bit, by stuff by rational still-in-the-fight words this week after the stolen ‘election’ put the illegal usurper back in the hen house…

While I agree with Spencer’s premise, I despair of the chances of turning things around.
He’s right…since the 1950′s, the left methodically infiltrated ALL elements of the culture, and have now a brainwashed, malleable electorate.
Have any of you actually tried to have a conversation with anybody under 35 lately?
Following the election, I was horrified to learn than a young member of my family voted for the Won. And this person actually said that he thinks he is the “lesser of the two evils”.
He’s totally bought into the so-called “social” issues platform…healthcare, women’s issues, “green” energy, etc. And the scary thing is that this guy’s off-the-charts intelligent.
I said something snarky like, “Well, I hope it’s a comfort to you when your kids college funds have been stolen by these bastards.”

The young voters were brainwashed in grade, jr high, and high school, then in college by the uberleft communists which have infiltrated every nitch of our education systems. There is no hope, for the young think the WON will provide for them from now till the grave….with what you ask? they dont care, he is their Mommy and Daddy now, even though he has forgotten every promise he made or will make now that the WON is in…for keeps. When they finally awaken to this, it will be too late. They are truly the LOST GENERATION for all eternity. They earned that by supporting the WON rather than thinking with their own brains.
