AN INFORMED ELECTORATE? YOU WON’T BELIEVE HOW LITTLE THESE OBAMA VOTERS KNOW ABOUT OUR GOV’T
A three block line weaved through a quaint neighborhood in South End of Boston, each person waiting to cast their vote at the polling place inside the Benjamin Franklin Institute of Technology. This is an austere, historic and heavily liberal section of Boston (generously assuming there are some non-liberal parts of Boston). Signs for Elizabeth Warren and buttons proudly proclaiming “Students for Obama” were in abundance.
This reporter called on some of those in line, asking some simple questions concerning why they showed up today to perform their civic duty. The answers usually began with a declaration of unwavering support for the president. So what were the issues that animated them in the campaign? Their answers were largely couched in generalities, warm pockets of feel-good social “rights” issues, that sounded line-and-verse like Obama campaign talking points.
“Women’s rights”, “gay marriage”, “planned parenthood”, “social welfare” rang out time and time again. The economic issues Mitt Romney hammered on were nowhere to be found — these voters were participating in an alternate election, one based on the social issues hand-crafted by team Obama. Without any specifics, but in full faith, these young voters stood, ready to cast their sacred ballots for the incumbent.

The one stupid young man who said there are “100 senators. Two for each COUNTRY.”, may have predicted our future if we lose our sovereignty and allow the U.N. to dictate to us.

In 4 years they’ll be feeling the pain of unemployment and high inflation. It sure is great these young men have sacrificed their future for such incoherent concepts as social justice and women’s rights.

I’d have to submit you’d get pretty much the same thing from Mitt voters of the same age group. The X-Box generation.
The shame would be finding the Obama voters that DO know about our government but have no clue on current events.
The guy that doesn’t know how many “countries” are in the U.S. but knows you can’t spend more than you make is more credible than the ninny that knows all the capitals in the states,House seats, and Senate seats but thinks we can spend our way out of debt.

That’s nothing. When asked why he was going to vote for Obama instead of Romney, the 60 year old man said; “I like Obama’s personality better.”

I hate how so many of this hipster doofus girls sound the same. Sort of a valley girl accent with that little creaky sound. It’s on so my commercials, too, and it makes my teeth itch!

I have to admit that I could not have answered those questions at that age. I am 61. When I was 18 and 19 All I was interested in was music and partying. The problem is not the lack of knowledge exhibited by these young people, but is the insanity of allowing people to vote who have no personal reason to have that knowledge. When you have property or a business, or even just a job, you have a stake in an election. These would be requirements for voting in a sane world.

O-T serious question for those here that have studied the old Soviet Union. Was work a requirement? IOW – was there a permanent EBT food stamp class or did everyone have to get off their asses and at least look like they worked? I’m asking because I think these welfare Obama voters are going to be in for a huge surprise when Dear Leader puts all his plans in place.

Ah, the American education system is alive and well.
In the 7th grade, I had a social studies teacher who emigrated from Hungary who taught us about world economies that I have never forgotten.
Socialism: You have two cows, the goverment takes your cows, gives you one and your neighbor the other.
Facism: You have two cows; the government takes your cows and sells you back the milk from your cow.
Communism: You have two cows; the goverment takes your cows and decides when and how much milk you can have from that cow.
Free market: You have two cows; the goverment has no say in what you do with those cows, but you as an individual decide to sell one of those cows for a bull–thereby producing more cows.
I have never forgetten that and while simplistic, it’s pretty much how it works. Also, capitalism is not anywhere in our founding documents. It is a term coined by Karl Marx. America has a free market system–free enterprise. We’ve gotten very used to using commie language.

NoMoBo – The welfare state cannot exist within a totalitarian system. It is injected into free nations as a cancerous infection to destroy them. That is its only purpose in human society.

We all know that if it were not for stupid incompetant stooges Obama would never have been elected to anything, ever.
Word on the street is Walmart is about to unionize and will increase prices.
Where are poor people supporting Obama going to shop now?

Lulu, exactly! Capitalism is a term coined by Marx. Thank you, thank you, thank you.
But I would go further than to say America has a free market system. Freedom from tyranny isn’t a system. America was founded on individual freedom which is the bedrock of the civilized world. That isn’t a system. Marx abstracted out the workings of free society, civilization, to “the capitalist system.” Thereby never having to actually attack the civilized world but attack a straw-man abstraction. It’s part of “The Palace of Lies” of the left.
Before Marxism terminology took root the places where freedom and liberty held sway were simply referred to as the civilized world. And for good reason.

The Russians once told an unbelieving America that they would bring us down from the inside and never once fire a shot. One of those guns was loaded with the term “politically incorrect” which was also coined by Marx. It’s been killing us ever since.
Once in frustration, Nikita Kruchev shouted that eventually Russia would rule America and that those who subscribed to Communist thought could be found in our schools, government and media.
And, Joe Stalin once said that America had three things going for it: it’s morality, it’s religion and it’s patriotism, but if the Russians could destroy those things, it would easy to take over our country.
This is know to be true, when someone tells you who they are, believe them. So it’s not like we haven’t been warned.

I was recently reminded of a quote from Andrew Breitbart: “politics is downstream from the culture”. So the nattering of the people in the video were a predictor of the election. Voter fraud helped decide it.

You know what pisses me off — My grandparents came here from Belarus/Lithuania in the 19-teens (around 1915). That was only 2 generations back, and less than 100 years ago, getting away from the Tsar.
So in less than 100 years and 2 generations since then, we are back to totalitarianism and a soon-to-be peasantry. It galls me — enough to make me yearn for the Old Country. I am sick of supporting deadbeats.
