Shouldn’t this be the kinda shit that the Republican Party should be analyzing? We lost! Wether it was stolen or if we had our heads up our asses or if we were bullshitted all along, we lost, period.
Now what? What can conservative constitutionalists do moving forwarard? They hoodwinked the tea party who were sooooooo quick to show how well they behaved themselves. Well, F that shit cause it doesn’t matter anymore. We ALL need to explore ways to disrupt very moment of each day for the next four years!!!! The question is HOW!!!!????

The Republicans should kick back and vote present…giving “O” enough rope to hang himself. This will cause the producers to go into hibernation for the next four years. Creating a minimal economy may show people how important “free capitalism” is.

For all the money spent by the RNC over the course of the last 8 years, they definitely do not have “Find World’s Best Marketing and PR Firms On The Planet” listed on anyone’s clipboard.

The GOP needs to be COMPLETELY re-branded, from the cellar to the attic. The obvious cliche’ is “This is not your father’s Oldsmobile.” Along with it, they need to gut the place to the studs, add a second story and, hey! let’s mix metaphors, drop in a new engine.

One of the best comments I heard post-election was “There’s no reason young people have to be Democrats.” The thing is, young people aren’t D’s because they actually believe any of that nonsense, they’re D’s because it’s hip, fresh, new and different. That’s what appeals to young voters. So unless we bump the voting age up to 37, one thing the parties can count on is a need to hep up the PR for the post-boom generation. That’s why, even with only 3% of the population, 40% of tee vee shows have a resident gay person/couple. You’d think they were 30% of the population if all you watched was tee vee, but they have them because it’s hip, fresh and new and kinda odd. Everyone waits for the meaningful looks and “the kiss.”

I absolutely know that with the right marketing that conservatives can keep their values and blow the competition away because, guess what?, being a D is getting “old”. We can make conservative values and ethics new again. It’s completely do-able.

In totalitarian, socialist states, the only ones who get ahead are criminals and/or government employees. The criminals engage in illegal, free-market capitalism and supply goods and services deemed illegal by the state. I haven’t decided what I’m going to sell just yet. Just food for thought.

Illinois has some big time financial problems. The 66% payroll tax hike that was supposed to pay down debt went to the broke as a joke pension plan. Only state with no conceal carry or open carry for gun owners. Chicago area just passed a tax, $25 on each gun sold.

The democrats now have a veto proof majority in the Illinois House and the Illinois Senate. The governor is also a democrat.

The Illinois democrats have been given carte blanche to govern how they choose.

I still maintain that the liberal plan is a seesaw or scales with leechers (read: D-votes) on one side and workers on the other, and is inherently unstable and unsustainable.

If just a small percentage of workers become leechers, overall entitlements have to be cut or taxes on workers have to be raised. Either way half the population is angry.

If leechers become workers they’ll oppose a system that is taking most of their hard earned money. Either way the government is forced to keep a thumb on the scales to maintain control of the population. Sooner or later people aren’t going to take it any more.

The scale analogy isn’t perfect because there are actually three factors: worker taxes, entitlement payouts, and the skim off the top to fund the government. It’s a given that the current government will never voluntarily reduce its size and will probably continue to expand for the foreseeable future. Entitlement groups and government payouts to cronyism are the vote buying norm and will increase just as a junkie needs more funds to sustain a habit. Can (and will?) workers produce every increasing taxes to support the other two groups? Of course not. Even if they wanted to, it’s not possible.

Course it took 80 years to see this in the USSR, and at least half the American public has proven they’re ignorant of history.

California’s government is now one-party rule. Suddenly the Democrats are crapping themselves, realizing there is no scapegoat and they will get 100% credit for whatever level of shithole they turn this state into. They know that makes them vulnerable. It’s not over, and it’s never over, nothing is ever fixed forever, nor is it screwed up forever (though it may take centuries to change), and we have to fight tooth and nail even if we don’t live to see an improvement. Think for how many decades progressives have been working on this plan. They never gave up, not with 8 years of Reagan and the fall of Communism. Look where they are today, because they had a strategy and the simply stuck to it.

We need a Seldon plan. For those who weren’t sci-fi geeks as kids, Hari Seldon was a mathematics professor who foresaw the impending collapse of the Empire and devised a plan to reduce the coming Dark Ages from 10,000 – 30,000 years to a mere 1000.

But for some reason the GOP/conservatives never seem to consider seriously studying this democratic/marxist beast, what really makes it tick and most importantly, where exactly is its vulnerable soft spot.

And once realized, stab at it relentlessly until the beast is subdued. Afterall, how do you think this beast has roundly trounced us? They know exactly where our soft spot is.

It seems like it was the goodies that got them this time. We can actually come up with ways to give out popular goodies without taking from anyone. For example, no income earned for working more than 40 hours should be taxed. Normal working people will like that. Even union members. They won’t care if it screws the gov out of a few dollars. Any other creative appealing ideas?

We also need to make the history of the party’s accomplishments and blemishes more commonly known. The Democrat Party has gotten away with hiding from their own dark past for far too long. It’s like the Nazis figured out a way to make themselves look good.

And the Republicans have allowed the credit for their accomplishments to be usurped. For example, there are a lot of idiots out there who think Lincoln was a Democrat. And how many women know that it was the Republicans who pushed the 19th Amendment through?

And who pushed the 14th Amendment that the gays are turning to for gay marriage? Republicans. Democrats opposed it.

I visited the Susan B. Anthony House once and there isn’t a single mention or artifact displayed that would disclose her anti abortion stance.
This kind of brain washing needs to be challenged at every turn.

Here’s a funny one. But also serious. We should ALL learn Spanish. They will be comfortable talking with people who speak their language. That’s a great way to “reach out” as the shitheads say. The Democrats don’t have enough brain power to pull this off. But we do. I’d like to suggest the creation of a Spanish language conservative web site if we don’t have one. I don’t have what it takes to do it, but I would happily donate to the cause.

@pissedpatriot — I spent about an hour on the phone with my broker on Friday, about as staunch a conservative as you’ll find. It was the first time since the election that I actually felt hopeful. I’m meeting him for lunch next week to hear some more about the markets and put together a go-forward strategy. My first impulse was to pull everything out for good and all and put it into something bullet proof, but he had a lot to say on the subject and I trust him (knew him as an executive at a major bank years ago and he’s never steered me wrong).

Anyway, he is a wonk when it comes to the markets and the effects of historical events on them. Yeah, I put up some convincing arguments about the uniqueness of these particular times but he must be getting a lot of calls lately because he had some extremely good responses to stuff that I hadn’t thought of. Too long to go into detail here, but I bring this up because my conversation with him made me think of things a little differently. One thing’s for sure, nothing stays the same. Ever.

Now, you either get out in front of the crisis or you let it stampede you into something you don’t really want. Or you do nothing, which is actually doing something. I know that I’m not really ever going to take up arms against my progtard neighbors. I realize there are a lot of people who feel the need to arm themselves. We’ve got guns/ammo to fend off looters and violent people, but I’m never going to set off into my city looking for trouble. That’s just me. So I’m left with trying to figure out alternatives that may have a shot at working.

Education is one huge area in which I think conservatives have the upper hand despite what is happening in our schools today. I think also that because young people are naturally hopeful and truly want a shot at making it, that all they need is someone with a better story than the progressives. And it wouldn’t be a con, either, because we’ve got a helluva great story to tell. We’re just not packaging it right and we suck at targeting our audience.

One thing we conservatives have got to overcome, and it can be trained through widespread seminars if you will, and that is getting past our natural instinct to mind our own business. Well, we’ve got to make it our business and fast. Progs have shown us over and over again that they are fantastic at targeting their message and getting up in there. They’re damn good because if there’s one thing a Prog is, it’s their very nature of arrogance that allows them to think they know exactly how everyone else should think. And if someone doesn’t think like them, they know how to convince them — and it’s through the culture. Just exactly what Thomas Lifson was talking about. And conservatives can change the culture just as well as any progressive can if we have the right tools and a great message with great messengers. I think Andrew Breitbart would have had a huge impact going forward because he understood this and he lacked that natural conservative reticence that keeps dogging the rest of us. That’s what made him Breitbart.

You’ve somehow got the idea that I’m just gonna roll over and make noises like Boehner and the rest. No sir. No way. But I think we’ve got way bigger brains than our enemies and there’s nothing we can’t turn around if we get smart and organized.

@Bad Brad — Do you have any kids in high school right now? I have and she goes to one of the most liberal HS’s in Seattle. The school is known in the district as the party school, all the teachers are active in the union; a couple even work closely with that Bertha Lewis communist. I had to explain to the principal that communism was responsible for 100M+ deaths because he sided with one of my kid’s teachers over the comment “communism isn’t all that bad.” The list goes on, but my point is I know from first-hand experience what we’re up against. And yet…and yet even at this hell hole of openly communist activists there are important outposts of solitary defenders like my kid’s cheer coach and others who don’t toe the party line. And, more importantly, I hear A LOT of the conversations between the kids and they’re getting sick and tired of the obvious propaganda. They are laughing at these teachers behind their backs. These teachers are viewed as one-dimensional hacks and most of the kids know they’re using their classrooms as a bully pulpit for ringing the bell about so-called global warming, oppression of minorities and women, and the like. The kids are getting sick to death of everything being filtered through the lens of really outdated crap because they know better. They’re living it and know that the revised history doesn’t jibe with their own lives. Their teachers are trying to scare them to death and they’re getting fed up because it’s a real drag to be on the hook for every cockamamie story of woe that you’re not responsible for. The problem is no one is taking the time to tell them anything else in a way that let’s them feel okay about it. Instead, all they’ve got are idiots, in many cases, who were too stupid to do anything but rant about their pet causes and work it into every lesson plan for the next 30 years whether material conditions change or not. They’re static and pathetic.

    The kids know this.

FWIW. My 3 nieces are in high school and come home chock full o’ libtard ideas. Climate-change-anti-nuclear-redistribute-the-wealth BS. Their father and I have spent a lot of time calmly explaining the liberal agenda of controlling the education system and the kids now realize the have to play along with it to get good grades and not be punished for disagreeing. I know that’s almost compliance but all 3 want to go to med school – and who can afford that? So grades and scholarship qualification are extremely important.

The point is, if you take the time to talk to kids and let them speak to adults they trust – like my neighbors who work at the steel mill and nuclear plant and have them explain the misconceptions that are spread about those industries – they’ll be better prepared to fend off the indoctrination at school.

And – all these kids understand that after they’ve heard both side of the debate, their opinions will be respected. Sometimes things evolve – like when the teacher redistributed the eldest’s A+ to the rest of the class because she didn’t need it. That was a major learning experience right there and she shared her outrage on her Facebook page. Hee hee.

@Xavier — Exactly! Exactly! Exactly! If you are a conservative household, it’s just not enough to think your kids are getting the tenets of conservatism through osmosis. It’s not articulate enough for them to defend their ideas to other kids. They need the details and the underlying ideas in order to satisfy their own need to make a decision. Progs give tons of biased detail and then distill it down to a bumper sticker that’s easy to remember. You’ve hit the nail on the head, too, about object lessons.
