CONGRATULATIONS, DEMOCRATS: Interior Department Blocks Access to 1.6 Million Acres of Oil in the West
Could one of you Democrats please tell me how the middle class benefits from higher gas prices and fewer jobs?
The disconnect between the administration’s “All-of-the-Above” energy rhetoric and actual policy looks like it’ll continue now that President Obama was reelected. The Hill reports that theInterior Department plans to block 1.6 million acres of federal land from oil development…

there is no disconnect.
We are being brought to our knees and guns are next.
When the civil war begins it will be interesting to see if the military and the police end up siding with us or the ghouls.

That’s just oil. How about the access to huge reserves of natura gas to which companies have been denied, also?

This is exactly what they want. Any other country can mine for their own resources, except for the US. Because we’re eeevil, that’s why. The people have spoken and they want tyranny. Now shut up and eat your peas, the King and Queen have some partyin’ to do.

dude says, “I don’t need oil, I take the bus!” Liberal logic.
That bus uses oil, and if you own anything made of plastic

that plastic was made from oil, too.
WTF happened there?

Check those thermostats. Obama constituents use more fossil fuels per capita to obtain personal comfort than any other group of people. They just don’t have to worry about paying for the skyrocketing rates because we pay for their home, their home heating and electricity, their food, their clothing, their alcohol, their drugs, their cable TV, their health care, their abortions, and their contraceptives even though THEY WILL NEVER USE THEM. (Notice I didn’t list education. They don’t care about any of that.)
They don’t give a rats ass about the cost of gasoline. The Democrats will simply increase their benefits.

If it weren’t for cowardly republican leaders entrenched in their comfy lifestyles there would have been secession years ago.

Technically it’s oil shale that they are talking about which is *mined* like coal, not drilled.
Yes, there is a lot of it, but it’s expensive to extract and uses *huge* amounts of water to get the oil.
Water is something the Green River basin is lacking. BTW, every gallon of water that flows down the Green and Colorado rivers is already taken. Water is a precious commodity in the arid west.
I’m not saying oil shale should be off-limits; just look at the big picture and do some research before jumping to conclusions.
Estoinia gets 95% of its electricity from oil-shale fueled power plants. It’s “cleaner” than coal but produces about 45% ash which is essentially limestone and *lots* of waste water.
The in-situ method of extraction/processing looks good but still has its drawbacks.
There is easier oil to get and what the feds lock up today they can unlock tomorrow.
