McDonald’s sales drops for first time since 2003
McDonald’s Corp. says a key sales figure fell in October, marking the first monthly drop in nearly a decade for the world’s biggest hamburger chain.
The company, based in Oak Brook, Ill., says global sales at restaurants open at least a year fell 1.8 percent for the month. The last time the figure dropped was in 2003. The figure is a key metric because it strips out the impact of newly opened and closed locations.

McDonald’s sucks! For about a $1 more I eat at locally owned places and get more food.
Speaking of which, anyone notice the calorie counts listed on some menus?
I use the calorie figures for smart shopping!
Why would I pay $7.99 for a chicken whatever with only 540 calories and not $7.49 for a big greasy burger with 1080 calories?

Lots of small, independent restaurants have closed. The horrible Obama economy is now showing in McDonalds bottom line. It’s going to get worse.

Veterans and residents noticed the American flag flying upside down and at half staff early Wednesday morning at the McDonald’s located in Follansbee, W.Va.
Follansbee City manager John DeStefano said he received calls from veterans who were very upset.
According to DeStafno, the city can’t control what happens at McDonald’s.
DeStefano said he made the shift manager aware of the situation, and the upset veterans who were looking to him for answers.
DeStefano said shortly after his call to the Follansbee McDonald’s someone took the flag down.
According to Follansbee McDonald’s owner Karen Mezan, a pulley broke on the flagpole Wednesday when fire department employees worked on the flagpole.
Flags flying upside down are usually to signal a distress call.
Mezan says the issue was ill timed, considering it occurred the day after the presidential election. But she says it was “an unfortunate mistake” and wasn’t meant to offend anyone.
I think this was perfectly excuted, too bad others didn’t follow their example.

This whole election mess boiled down to the “gimme crowd” versus the “worker crowd.” The good news for the “gimme crowd” is that their party won the White House and kept the Senate. The bad news for the “gimme crowd” is that the “working crowd” is hunkering down for another long four years.
Unfortunately for the “gimme crowd,” the “working crowd” is what makes this place tick. Among the “working crowd,” I see consumer spending going down further, further business contraction, and real estate stagnation. This isn’t good for the “gimme crowd” – when they use their free ObamaPhone to order pizza, there may not be anyone on the other end to answer.

There used to be two Kroger markets in the town where I do my shopping. One of them had to close right after 0bama got in office in 08. Now I hear that Kroger is laying off in honor of his second term.

Didn’t Moochelle and Jugears pressure McD’s and they went to serving apples in their happy meals so the parents did not have to make that hard choice? Also I seem to remember a Obamacare Waiver going to McD’s. Anybody else remember this?

McDonald’s supposedly employs over one million people, possibly 1.5 million according to some information. I wonder how many of those employees voted for their own future job loss when McD’s has to start closing restaurants and laying off people.

I stopped dealing with McDonalds when they got my order wrong for about the 10th time in a row. That, with at least 15 employees milling about behind the counter. How is it that Wendys and Chick Fil A can get orders right with half the people?
