AGC Flat Glass closing Kingsport plant. The plant produced glass for the solar industry.
Update: 10:25 a.m.
AGC Glass North America is permanently shutting down its Blue Ridge Plant in Kingsport.
Company officials notified employees on Wednesday that the plant will be closed. Most of the 70 employees were sent home, while a few remained to shut down the production furnace and sell the remaining inventory. The plant produced glass for the solar industry.
“We regret having to deliver this news to our employees and the Kingsport community,” said company spokesman Chris Correnti. “We have explored numerous avenues to continue operations but obstacles are just too great for us to overcome.”

I’ve heard of three today. Including i right across the street from my building. They were manufacturing water desalinization equipment. Their target market was the middle east. But there’s so much unrest there now, they cannot market that region. Another bi-product of Barry’s foreign policy.

“And, *thanks* for being fodder for Obama’s campaign, suckas.”
Can’t *wait* for the massive upheaval companies are going to give employees transferring them from 40-to-28 hours-per-week (thanks to ObamaCare regs), just to stay economically viable.
Of course, they will be called to bogeyman, not Obama.
*sigh*
