Obama Closes Out Campaign With Star-Studded Blitz

MILWAUKEE – After thousands of ads, hundreds of stump speeches and a record war chest of campaign cash, President Obama is banking on a final burst of star power to boost his get-out-the-vote effort in the final 72 hours of the 2012 presidential campaign.

As Obama and his top surrogates – Vice President Joe Biden, first lady Michelle Obama and former President Clinton – barnstorm the battlegrounds this weekend, they will have a cast of Hollywood stars and music icons at their sides.

The pairings are aimed at driving turnout, particularly among young and minority voters, while bolstering enthusiasm in a handful of key states where polls show the presidential race very close.

Here in Wisconsin, Obama will be joined by multi-platinum singer Katy Perry, who appeared with the president at a midnight rally in Las Vegas last week wearing a white “ballot” dress. Later in Dubuque, Iowa, rocker John Mellencamp will perform, and actress Kate Walsh of ABC’s “Private Practice” and “Grey’s Anatomy” will address the crowd.

Dave Matthews will open for Obama at a late-night rally in Bristow, Va., where the president will also unite for the first time on the 2012 campaign trail with Bill Clinton.

The celebrity tour continues Sunday with Latino rapper Pitbull joining Obama in Hollywood, Fla.; soul legend Stevie Wonder performing at a rally in Cincinnati; and Dave Matthews making a second appearance with the president in Aurora, Colo.

Biden will tour Ohio on Sunday with pop singer Jason Mraz, stopping in Lakewood, Fremont and Lancaster. Michelle Obama will stump in Orlando, Fla., Monday with Ricky Martin.

Let there be no doubt: It takes lots of money in order to then take lots of money! Hussein has this down to a fine science. We can only hope and pray that there are enough of us out there to stop the madness come Tuesday. Otherwise, we will have become a nation that places ‘cool’ above ‘wise’.

Kate Walsh, whose hatred of free speech and abstinence lead her to hold a rally to cancel Bristol Palin’s appearance at Washington University.

Yep, this is Obama’s kind of scum alright.

What do Democrats contribute that we couldn’t do without?
I contend that they are dead wood and useless parasites.

First thought – how’d Ricky Martin get stuck with Meeschelle? One would think Barry and Ricky would’ve been a much better “fit” so to speak.

Secondly, the last reason I’d go to anyone’s political rally is for the celebrities. I’m not there to be entertained for goodness sake.

Instead of rescuing Americans in Benghazi, Obama went to party in Las Vegas, and instead of doing
what he could do to rescue victims of hurricane
Sandy, Obama ran off to Las Vegas to party again.

Obviously that lazy con artist wants to be relected
so that he can continue to live like royalty, NOT
so that he can fulfill the responsibilities of our
President. Are Democrats too stupid to see that?

@ Anne: “Are Democrats too stupid to see that?”

I wish it was as easy as that! My take is that more and more in the Democratic Party have simply chosen which side their bread is buttered on. They, along with apparently 47% of the nation, have determined that America is going the way of Europe and have decided to get on board.

And this has been coming for nearly one hundred years, starting with FDR enacting the New Deal and Social Security, LBJ signing Medicare and Medicaid into law, and culminating now with Obamacare.

It well may be that we are seeing the last few breaths of a once great country…..

Anne – When you see Obama rallies with his supporters sitting there behind him with their eyes glazed over in a blank stare and becoming animated only when they’re cued to do so, yes, it’s obvious that they are dense, obtuse, ditzy, clueless and vey shallow …., and immoral, the dumbest we have to offer.

FullCircleThinker – You are, of course, absolutely right.

If I may expand on your point, it goes to the crux of a point that AbigailAdams raised to the effect that it is the immorality, no, the evilness of Democrats that has brought this country to the brink of destruction.

A Democracy or a Republic can not survive when, if even by a narrow margin, the majority are immoral, and when a majority comprised of white trash think that it is cool to act like black trash..
