HELL ON EARTH: New York Neighborhoods “Descend Into Chaos” as Sixth Day Passes Without Power or Help

Home - by - November 4, 2012 - 16:00 America/New_York - 27 Comments

Doug Ross

In Brooklyn, Queen’s and Staten Island, beleaguered residents prepared for a seventh day without power. And many have been forced to “scavenge for food like animals“:

…residents of the Rockaways in Queens continued struggling without power, heat or food for a sixth day as their neighborhood slowly descended into chaos.

With little police presence on the storm-ravaged streets, many residents of the peninsula have been forced to take their protection into their own hands, arming themselves with guns, baseball bats and even bows and arrows to ward off thugs seeking to loot their homes.

It has been reported that crooks have been disguising themselves as Long Island Power Authority workers and coming by homes on the peninsula in the middle of the night while real utility workers were nowhere to be found.

This would have sunk a Republican president but Obama, as always, gets a bounce in support, often from the very people who are suffering.

Where is Kanye West to tell us who The President hates?
Why don’t we hear the near universal denouncement of the presidency from the press this time?

I bet these poor saps scoffed at doomsday preppers. Now they know why you need at least one month of basic supplies (water, food, medicine, ammo, etc).

This is Obama’s Katrina. The people there could be eating their own shit and Obama will still win in Jersey and New York…Sad.

    Mr Happy asked:
“Where is Kanye West to tell us who The President hates?”

I guess it’s already obvious enough that 0bama hates white people!

I’ve said for years that 0′s racism is largely his own self-loathing and twisted “white guilt” for being born and raised as a white kid with dark skin. Much the same as how Michelle’s obsession with food and exercise demonstrates her negative body image and tortured relationship with food. Both of them project their psychoses on to the world around them.

True, and now they are getting what they wished for, I just hope they don’t drag the rest of us down with them.

Just returned from a local mega sporting store to replenish supplies. Spoke with a delightful Grandma about how awful this situation was and what a perfect snapshot of why government cannot and will not save you, particularly in places with onerous anti 2nd amendment laws.

I read earlier today that the Mayor in Coney Island wanted National Guard troops on the streets to thwart looters as the citizens in the bad areas are arming themselves with whatever to defend themselves.

Mayor No Salt 16oz Doomberg said no to the request as he only wants NYPD to have guns in the area. The police resources are already stretched thin but Doomberg said the police could protect the bad areas!

Perhaps more than anything that has happened in the last few years, this disaster shows clearly – government – the state – cannot provide. It can only take. Even when it takes tax dollars from the citizen, it does/can not return them when they are merited. Perhaps FEMA and this administration is helpless because they truly have no money to function is this scenario. Not running up trillion dollar debts IS a moral imperative – the Sandy disaster shows why. Vote for love of country Tuesday.

This is precisely why I feel very little empathy for their circumstances. They never learn!

Someone should bring in a big screen tv with a generator and show these people the star-studded gala with all of the food and trimmings as a reminder as to how little the prez, holywood, and musicians care.

Well at least they have their union electricians helping them out.

This really doesn’t surprise me, everyone. I lived in Rhode Island during the floods of 2010 and was in charge of business recovery efforts for a small, rural town south of Providence. I dealt with unions and the most ‘smuggie’ of the libtards, and even though Janet Napolitano told a group “We are here to help you and give you the resources you need to get back up and running,” businesses today are still down. FEMA failed them and this Administration failed them. However, they will STILL VOTE for this Administration. Jersey and New York will follow suit; they are so beholden to Democrats that they fail to realize the very political party they put on a golden pedestal is the very party who brutalizes them at every opportunity.

Many of these areas (like those pictured above) will remain that way because FEMA is not present to rebuild people’s homes and businesses. That is what INDIVIDUAL INSURANCE is for. FEMA is present to rebuild critical infrastructure, ensure proper emergency response, and provide continuity of government resources. I see a lot of people commenting, and I agree with them, that hopefully this situation will help these idiots wake up. However, it has been my sad experience that even the worst of these storms and lying of politicians can’t even wake up the most entrenched of Democrats.

This nation’s only hope is a Romney/Ryan victory.

It does seem hopeless that Democrat locked regions hit by this massive storm, will every vote Republican in great numbers. They no longer can say with any real conviction, government is the answer.
Another thing, they are now trapped by progressive-socialist laws that will destroy their lives in this crisis.
    Commissar M – excellent observation.

Just like the residents of New Orleans who knew for days prior to landfall that Katrina was coming, these people also had warning that a very bad storm was on it’s way. Why didn’t they evacuate when advised or told to do so? Not wishing ill on anyone, but people need to realize that they are responsible for taking care of themselves. It’s really not the government’s job!

I heard a snipit on the radio which was spotlighting 2 woman out there. The intro said something like, ” they live in public housing….”
and my mind immediantly filled in ” so they are used to getting everything handed to them” of course that was not the next like on the radio spot but maybe it should have been.
