Hurricane Sandy Day 6 – Just got back cable and internet. Still no electricity – running on generator $$$. Gas is scarce. Damage in the area is extensive.

Have I been fired?

    Good thing you were smart and had a generator, but I read that you can only get 10 gals. of gas. And they had the nerve to criticize Bush. Ha! Idiots!

    I don’t think you’re fired, but better play it cool for a couple days….no long lunches, etc.

    Generator running fridge – got food this time.

    The biggest threat is running out of gas for the generator.

    Looking at the devastation on Staten Island on television. Horrible.

    We got lucky. No house damage. A few people (3 from the last count I heard) got killed with trees hitting their homes.

    @Mr.Pinko

    Put a couple of gallon jugs of water in your freezer. That will save the food in your fridge for a day or better if you run out of gas, provided you don’t open the door too often. Leave air space at the top of the jugs so they won’t burst when they freeze. I do it all the time when my power goes out, and it goes out any time lightening strikes within a half mile of my house.

    @ Bad Brad – just need a few prayers for those that got hit real bad and a few extra ones that we don’t get hit again on Wednesday.

    I’m fine – as for Ms. Pinko – I don’t ever want to get stranded on an island with her. She won’t last a day.

    No cable, but we hav 3g. Lots of gas up in Connecticut off 684. Also gas up.route 27 in NY state. Generator.works great. I hav 10 xtra gallons mr.pinko but u.gotta come.to Allrndale NJ. KEEP SMILING.

    So glad that you are OK! I’m upstate NY, it’s snowing here this morning, and about 30-ish degrees, so I’m guessing many people down your way are going to see conditions get worse fast if something isn’t done in one fat hurry.

    Mr. Pinko. Look like it’s going to get pretty cold.If the powers still out hopefully you have a fireplace. If push comes to shove the best Burn Barrel we ever had at the Fat Loser Duck Club was the drum out of a wash machine. Produces a lot of heat. Don’t put it inside. Mrs. Pinko sounds quite a bit like Mrs. Bad LOL.

    Having been stranded on farms due to snow and high winds (2-4 days usually, with no electricity and just a kerosene heater) we can relate to your situation. Glad to hear that you, Mrs. Pinko, and your home made it through with little “damage”!
