OBAMA DONS BOMBER JACKET; WILL LIBERALS REMEMBER CALLING BUSH A FASCIST FOR DOING THE SAME?

How presidential!! How brave and leadshippy! So FULL of..leader.. SHIP.
Oh how the liberals forget how Bush (who actually did have some experience in military) was afascist dictator for daring to wear a bomber jacket while in office!
The Dean’s World blog had a great post about this way back in 2004 where he noted this histrionic quote from Dana Milbank, Obama waterboy [emphasis added]:
Conway, Ark.: Dana: Is it really seemly for a civilian President withno active duty military record to a don military unifrom? It seems questionable morally, and also suspect politically, as it naturally reminds people that he may not have completed his National Guard commitments honorably.
Dana Milbank: It is interesting that the White House had no concern that the carrier landing would revive the questions about Bush’s service in the National Guard…
As for wearing military garb, the experts I checked with said it is unlikely any president had done that since Teddy Roosevelt, and that was before such images would be broadcast into millions of homes. Even true military figures, such as Eisenhower, avoided wearing uniform as president.
It is fair to ask whether the presentation of the civilian commander-in-chief in military clothing is wise. My belief, though, is the public will generally not question it.
I wonder if Milbank will ask this question of Obama? more

He is the only man I’ve ever seen who actually manages to look LESS manly in bomber jacket… Not that he was too macho to start with.

At least he had the good taste to wait until his second term to don the epaulets, gold braid, and chest full of medals.

Obama in a flight jacket only reminds me that he failed to permit real fighter plane pilots to fly to the aid of Americans under attach in Libya on 9/11/2012.
As a result those people are all dead and terrorists have been taught the CiC of the USA won’t defend Americans on foreign soil. What is worse is that American troops in harms way have also been taught that this excuse for a CiC cares not for them.

By the way, that looks like an A-2 USAF Flight jacket — the B-3 ‘Bomber jacket’ is lined with sheepskin – kept B-17 crews warm at 25,000 ft over Berlin in winter. You can own one – USWings.com for about $1200.

I’ll bet Bush’s didn’t have the giant, pretentious “Air Force One” logo on it, and the big “Commander in Chief” nameplate.

Bush had more than ‘some military experience’. He was a jet pilot in the National Guard. They don’t let just anybody into jet training. It’s based on merit, a word not in Obama’s vocabulary

I remember when GW Bush received that flight jacket- it was a gift from a Navy crew. Most such gifts are just put away for the Prez Library. But Bush wore his on a Rose Garden walk with Tony Blair. I bet the Navy crew that gave it to him were thrilled that he was wearing it. And Mahtomedi is right, Bush flew F-102 fighter planes; I bet he wore an MA-1 or CWU-45P flight jacket while flying it, too.
