BigFurHat Rant

Home - by - October 31, 2012 - 19:45 America/New_York - 34 Comments

Okay. Here is another group of people who I wish would die in a fiery oil truck blaze – PEOPLE WHO SLOW DOWN AND RUBBERNECK AT ANY COP CAR WHICH HAPPENS TO BE DOING ANYTHING WITH THEIR LIGHTS ON.

RETARDS! ALL!

What in Justin Bieber do you think you’re going to see? And why do you care? I don’t even rubberneck at car accidents, on principle. The least you idiots can do is not rubberneck at a traffic infraction.

rant/ off

With you on that one Fur. I’ve spent some precarious times stuck in the DFW metroplex, cars crawling six lanes wide, 1/2 mile long, bumper to bumper. To make it worse, 105 degrees, gas guage on E, temp gauge in the red, only to find someone on the shoulder changing a flat getting all the attention.

In a small town like mine, I make sure it isn’t somebody I know. And in a small town like mine, it ain’t real common. I’m glad I don’t live in a city.

oh…and the people that are burning alive in that firey oil truck blaze will slow things to a crawl.

I agree! Traffic is at a crawl for 20 minutes or more and when you get up to the incident, it’s for NO REASON. People just love shiny objects. LOL.

My favorite reply while getting pulled over and asked “Do you know why I pulled you over” I always answer “No, I was hoping you knew”

That, and my “If you don’t like the way I’m driving, stay off the sidewalk” bumper sticker seem to make for some hefty fines.

There is rubbernecking, and there is obeying the law. This is law in MD – slow down or move over:
    http://pikesville.patch.com/articles/state-police-remind-motorists-to-move-over
I haven’t heard of anybody getting fined for this, but I can’t see how it can be enforced.
    How slow is legal?
    How far over is legal?

Some parts of the nation are shittier than others. Where I live people coming from the other direction will flash their lights day or night to let you know there is a cop up ahead. And they will stop and ask you if you need help if you are stopped by the side of the road.
Where I used to live, in a big stinkin-ass city people would only stop to try to rob you. I carry , so that has never played out with me.

What pisses me off most is when some son of a bitch tailgates somebody who is driving the speed limit when there is plenty of opportunity to pass.

Teh signs in Shitllinois were changed from “Slow down or move over” for bullshit on the side to “Slow down — move over” for bullshit on the side.

Did they cover up the “or” in trade of “–”? Fucks no! They made whole gnu signs!!!

Was out and about in New Jersey. Place is wrecked.
No power in most places. trees on top of houses, etc.

Traffic at a stand still in lots of places. Detours, etc.
And then these dumbphucks have to go 3 mph past a cop giving a ticket.
    Please, meteorite. Hit me first.

I’m glad I’m not the only one who rants about rubberneckers! My poor son has had an earful his whole life, sitting in the truck with me. I always think some people’s lives must be SO terribly dull that they find a police car infinitely more fascinating than anything going on in their own lives.

Don’t even get me started. It took me Six hours to do a round trip from Seattle to Olympia today. With the stops I had to make, three, maybe three and one half hours is normal. How in the world do you flip cars over on I5 during rush hour? One North one South. Rant done. Oh yea, its 65 miles one way to Olympia. Now done.

We need to conduct a survey to see which is the most dangerous:

Korean housewives in minivans or Russian housewives in giant SUV/Urban Assault Vehicles.

Add in a Prius or two that cannot do over 43 uphill and traffic can get very interesting very quickly…..

I thought one of the first comments would be abour all the vids I have seen where a moron just drives right into one of the two vehicles while the ossifer has one stopped.

For the life of me, I just don’t understand that!

People want to see the icky so they can tell their friends, “I was there, I saw the body, blood, head, severed limb, etc.”

As a cop, I’ve almost been hit several times by people gawking. I told my wife, I’m much more likely to be hit by a car than a bullet…..

Please be careful about making snap judgments. Some states require by law that you slow down when passing an emergency vehicle on the side of the road–whether cop, fire, or EMT.

    http://drivinglaws.aaa.com/laws/move-over-law/

It could very well be that the drivers are following the law…
