Gorton Fisherman to do the eulogy

Orange County Register

An Irvine resident representing the group requests that the city place the sign recognizing the suffering of hundreds of saltwater bass that died at the spot.

An Irvine resident is requesting that the city install a sign to memorialize the hundreds of fish killed in a traffic crash in early October as they were being taken to Irvine Ranch Market.

In the letter, Dina Kourda, on behalf of People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals, asks the city’s street maintenance superintendent to place the sign at the site of the crash on Walnut and Yale avenues.

The sign would read, “In memory of hundreds of fish who suffered and died at this spot,” to remind tractor-trailer drivers of their responsibility to the animals who are “hauled to their deaths every day,” according to the letter provided by PETA.

Hey! They could place a similar sign at the Boynton Beach (FL) Inlet fishing boat docks where hundreds of billfish, giant grouper, snapper, tuna and all sorts of good eatin’ meet their destinies every winter!

    SALT-WATER ANGLERS COME ON DOWN!!!

why the Ichthus (Jesus) fish? – I agree the Petards are stupid, but don’t see how the Son of God plays into this…

Since when are freaking fish ANIMALS?

My PETA = People Eating Tasty Animals

That PETA would surely blow a gasket if they ever found out that I fill a live-well full of water, put the fish I catch into it and then I haul the fish down the highway home in the now stagnant live well water. When I get home, I lay the fish on a cutting board (still alive) and then I get out my Mr. Twister e-lectric knife and I cut the fish behind the gill straight down to the spine. I then follow the spine all the way toward the tail where I stop and flip the fillet over. The fish 9/10 time is still alive by the time I flip it over and do the other side.

I’ve yet to ever hear one scream in agony.

These outer-fringe-thinking people are to be marginalized.

There is no long term success for what they want even if they completely got what they want.

There was a push to get governments to remove roadside crosses here in MI because they “distract” drivers.

Those were roadside crosses for PEOPLE who died. Not animals.

We already have “Crossing” markers on the streets for where deer, ducks and other animals die crossing the road.

    Isn’t that honor enough?

I’d like these people to go to this sign marker:

…and stand on the tracks to give their eulogies for the poor fish. Right at 2:34 pm on Wednesday…..

If these PETA flakes weren’t so anti-Christian, they could lobby a church to have a fundraiser for their “memorial”.

Around here we love a big Fish Fry.

memorialize the hundreds of fish killed in a traffic crash in early October as they were being taken to Irvine Ranch Market.
Stupid PETA they were going to a market anyway. What a waste of time. Why don’t they ask to put up signs to memoralize the lives lost in Bengahzi. They are worth more than those fing fishes.

I live a couple of blocks from that intersection. Please know that Irvine is NOT full of wack-jobs as this PETA-freak. The fish were on their way to a local Asian Market where they were to be sold as food. Please don’t judge those of us (a majority by the way) by her actions. We thinks she’s got a few screws loose. And, btw — the city said NO to her request!
