Guarding the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier during Hurricane Sandy
October 29th, 2012
I hope Obama is staying dry and cozy. /sarc.
God bless those fine young men.
@unneutral – the preezy is monitoring the storm, doncha know. I feel safer already.
God Bless Them. This is our military.
Soldiers stood that way when the plane hit the Pentagon only a few miles away too. God bless them
Probably one of the few places in DC where Honor still has value.
They will do their duty for the duration of the storm.
How is it possible to look at the photo and not feel a lump or a tear.
Carlos The Jackal
I salute THEM!
Stirrin the B.S.
@illustr8r – you beat me to it – LOL
THAT makes me proud to be an American. Fine young men serving their country, quite the contrast to “community organizing”.
Thank you gentlemen.
they deserve a brave commander in chief.
let us give them one on november 6th.
Stranded in Sonoma
Here is 0bama honoring the dead at Arlington.
Photo of the year candidate.
Latest Moochele quote:
“all of THIS for a tomb”?
Obama could take a lesson from these fine young men. Honor, Duty, Country. Salute!
I’m willing to bet those young men would never complain about having to stand guard in the rain. God Bless them!
Complain? Never it’s an honor to guard the Tomb of the Unknown.
Great Photo. They are dedicated men. There’s a
video of the guard chastizing some disrespectful visitors on google.
24-7-365 standing in honor. Not just guarding the tomb, but standing in honor of all those who stood up before them, and all those who will stand up after they have gone … standing in Honor of others.
Meanwhile….President Obama heads upstairs for a nap.
Now these are MEN!!
Yesterday – one of the poll questions asked what (if a woman) you found attractive in a man.
This would be it – times 100.
Saying a quick prayer for these gallant young soldiers. May we give them a fitting CIC soon.
No words need be mentioned…….the picture says it all.
It’s interesting, well, sort of, don’t you think?
The slimy Democrats and their slimy shills in the
MSM portrayed George W. Bush as a useless fool,
whose only claim to famme was that he came from a
wealthy family, and they portrayed Barack H. Obama as a man of the people … when, in fact, George W. Bush was an honorable, humble man of the people who provided great leadership through three wars and who got a lot accomplished, while Obama turned out to be a useless empty suit, a slippery street hustler and a lazy and pretentious, decadent dilletante, who was been systematically, [deliberately], viciously, [spitefully], trecherously and [vindictively] undoing everything that G.W.Bush accomplished, and who wants to be reelected for no other reason than so that he can continue to live like royalty without doing a damned thing to earn it.
You miss Ronald Reagan? I miss George W. Bush. He and Laura were a class act, unlike the trash that Democrats have put into the White House.
Lazy & Incarcerated
And they still do it even though they have no commander in chief.

Wow. God Bless them all.
My brother was with the Old Guard back in the 70s – he’da said something to the effect: “We ain’t sugar – we ain’t gonna melt.”
The photo reminds me when I saw the changing of the guard last year for the first time. Still gives me goosebumps thinking about. God bless our men and women in the military.
Takes a special kind of soldier to do that. Clearly they honor their obligation to the United States and our fallen. If only we had a president that did the same.
just contrast those fine young men with their poor commander in chief.
they deserve much better.
up yours obama voters!

“Here Rests In Honored Glory An American Soldier Know But To God”
…reads the inscription on the Tomb of the Unknowns
My son did a 3-year stint in the 3rd. Got to see him perform some Honor details. These are the same guys (no girls; they are an Infantry regiment)that plant the flags on the graves every Memorial Day.
Beautiful photo. I am humbled.
Hate to say this, but with the rash of bogus pictures being released… I feel this one is a fake based on look at the shadows on the ground in the picture. The light cannot come from 3 directions at once.
Are you sure you don’t mean “fire can’t melt steel” ?
No those aren’t shadows, they are (and appropriately I made add) called reflections.
I’d like to have some of whatever you’re smoking, dude.
99th Squad Leader
Young American men who are willing to serve, with honor, and sacrifice for this great country. Beyond awesome! So proud of them!
Someone said they deserve a breave commander in chief let us give them one on November 6th.
How are we going to do this? we only have 2 to pick from and we can’t pick any of them because there not good enough for this job oops.
God bless these men. They are real men unlike their CIC.
Steadfast, loyal and true.
(There’s are some great videos on YT about the tradition behind the Tomb of the Unknowns.)
@mythmaker – I guess all those raindrops hitting the granite are faked too, huh?
I guess Mr. Obama would see these men as “bitterly clinging to their guns.”

Ted Turner: “Are they gonna kill themselves, or what??”
That reminds me of the two marines going to protect Chris Stevens , Obama has told people to evacuate because of the hurricane , Yet he’s left these 3 marines out in the cold , Bengazi all over.
Honor. Courage. Duty.
Just like MARINES. THE FEW, the BRAVE, the 3RD.
I am not bragging, but I spent my time in hell.I respect our great country without regret.I did not always agree, but when duty calls, a Marine never refusses to serve. It is just so sad we have a CIC that knows nothing about the services,or for that matter the USA.He never had a job or fullfilled any military duties and never refers to God.100 rounds of golf later wants to try to ack like a leader and ask for 4 more years of golf and destroying the country.God bless our troups and our true patriots of the USA
October 31st, 2012
Having spent a snowy Christmas Eve at Arlington for the last tribute of the day, I can only say that these young men are the epitome of what is right with our country. I salute them!!!
The photo is from September, not October. There is a picture of a soldier guarding the Tomb from October.
Get it right(in this case-CORRECT!)

Respect is a powerful word. Respect is earned, not bought.
@ Righteous Progressive
Way to point that out. That really changes everything!!!!
