Start, register, create, and apply for religious status for their own church/religion and have the property next door be the new location. Call it the church of the Mohamedites! THEN, perform ALL the religious practices of this new religion- ‘ya know, loud music, pig spit barbeques, pole dancing, revving your motorcycles at certain hours of the day. Of course you will need a stature of the church’s Mohamed, and because he’s American, he needs to have a pig under one arm and kneel next to his awesome hot chick tattooed hottie girlfriend. If the community members are well off they should probably lawyer up and see if they can have the zoning blocked for whatever reason. Get some signatures on a petition, say you don’t want to have to deal with the traffic and noise.
It might be a long shot but you could try ACLJ — the American Center for Law and Justice. They have dealt with this kind of thing.

I read part of the article on that muslim website and they are looking at building a large community for muslims, talking about how grand it will be in 50 years. They won’t stop at 66 acres. That right there just fucked up my day.
Gonna have to fight hard. Wish there was something I could do to help.

We had something similar happen down the road a few towns over. ISNA wanted to buy several hundred rural acres to build a muzz cemetery. This is old New England sh*tkicker farm country,not enough of them to fill up a short bus let alone 2-300 acres. We called the local town hall and informed them they were most likely looking to build more than a cemetery, probably a mosk or “community center” Not much of a reaction from them but a few weeks later the whole thing was shot down by the town council due to discovery of wetlands in the acreage.

Thanks to all for your advice. Unfortunately, the property was initially developed by a Catholic school in Baltimore that intended on expanding into the area. The property is already zoned for education, but not for buildings as expansive as what is shown in the plan on their website.
Does anyone know anyone involved with that Murfeesboro, TN megamosque?

This is so typical of what is going on worldwide. Did you read why the RCs left this property in less than ten years? Declining membership, just like in Europe. All those great empty churches and cathedrals, islam moves right into the vacuum.All they have to do is wait.

Jethro. The NC’s are turned off, everyones gone, so here’s the deal. Our community just got through fighting the county on a re zoning issue that was shadier then hell. What you guys are fighting is obviously much worse particularly because of the way it is zoned. Vagabond trader mentioned wetlands. Some of the acreage that was trying to be rezoned here ended up qualifying as a wetland, even if it doesn’t look like a wet land I would still check it out. Drainage in Cali. is wetlands. EPA is not going to do you any good, but the Sierra Club might. But I would really hit up the audubon society. You would be amazed at whats protected. Turns out we had a pair of peregrine falcons nesting a mile away and they were feeding off that acreage. The county gave up before we pulled that card.
All this is a long shot, but on the off chance you hit pay dirt with one of them it’s worth pursuing.

Bad Brad, there has to be some strategy, since educating people will likely take longer than the permitting/purchasing process will take. That it’s an extant school property make it problematic. The only thing to go up against is the expansion issue.

We do have one thing in our favor. the Catholic school was never completed. They only have an auditorium and a few temporary classroom buildings. The original zoning for the Catholic school growth and expansion was a sequential, timed process. Those deadlines for expansions from what is there now are past and permissions have expired. They will have to resubmit for their capacity allowances. Their building plans are way outside of existing limits for our rural zone. It’s an uphill battle for them, and we are determined to roll boulders (figuratively) in their way the entire process.

Jethro. One other thing to look at is who on your city or county approved the first zoning to take place. If they were wrong in approving the school (pay to play) in the first place then you might stand a chance to fight them. Its going to be a long fight. Also a pork barbecue will create tiny particles of pork fat etc. which will atomize pork all over the place. In fact the smoke in cities contains cholesterol residue which can only come from meat being cooked at McDonalds, barbecues etc. There are scientific papers on that.
