Alabama legislator wants to block United Nations from sending poll watchers
The Speaker of the Alabama House of Representatives is calling for state legislation that would keep poll watchers sent by the United Nations out of his state on Election Day.
“The United States
is the worldwide beacon of free elections and the Republican form of government, so having an international squad from the United Nations playing referee in our elections is insulting and absurd,” Speaker of the House Mike Hubbard said, according to the Yellow Hammer Politics blog.
“We’ve been holding elections in the U.S. for the past 223 years without the United Nations playing a role or enforcing the rules, and we certainly don’t want or need them now,” he said.
Hubbard said that in order to prevent U.N. poll watchers from interfering with Alabama elections, he would support future state legislation requiring poll watchers to have U.S citizenship.

Hey, I’ll volunteer to be a UN Poll watcher although I’m not sure that anyone would ever read my reports on the widespread Democrat Party election fraud that takes place.
Wouldn’t that be a hoot though. The UN reporting the only election fraud and intimidation that takes place was done to aid the Democrats.

Not saying it would happen (…could) but what if one of them UN boys (by the way, does the UN allow gays and women to serve??) happens to get “picked” off in a drive by? Are we going to have an International incident with whatever counrty of origin this buzzard happened to represent?

@joe6pak, From what I’ve read this was entirely the U.N.’s call. I’ve also read that is up to the individual states whether or not they will let them watch. Anyway you cut it it’s rather insulting. Sure would be nice if we de funded that clown club and got the hell out. We could save a lot of money.

My guess is their plan is to “fake” Republican voter fraud in order to justify a re-count, no matter how badly a landslide Romney wins by.

Since they have zero legal authority, I fail to see the point. Even as a stunt to show that the “red state” US is no better that any third world dictatorship, it falls completely flat.
The only thing I can see at work here is the standard DemonRat/Western Left appeal to “international authority”. Apparently, it gives the MSDNC crowd something to crow about but aside from that, it serves only to piss off the people it’s meant to intimidate.
And that’s not exactly “optimal”.

Throw the bums out! Even though the UN campus is an excellent example of mid-20th century archiecture, it’s nothing more than a VIP lounge for dictators and tyrants. Tear the damn place down then sell the site to Donald trump for $1. Let him negotiate with the Mohawks and the NFL to build a casino and stadium there so we can bring the Giants and Jets back to NYC where they belong!
