Obama Goes Off-Teleprompter on Gun Control
With a pre-selected question surely meant to paint Mitt Romney into a corner with the NRA, debate moderator Candy Crowley instead induced the president to go off-teleprompter with his thoughts on gun control.
The audience member asked:
President Obama, during the Democratic National Convention in 2008, you stated you wanted to keep AK-47s out of the hands of criminals. What has your administration done or planned to do to limit the availability of assault weapons?
And the president replied, “I believe in the second amendment,” but added:
… I also share your belief that weapons that were designed for soldiers in war theaters don’t belong on our streets. And so what I’m trying to do is to get a broader conversation about how do we reduce the violence generally. Part of it is seeing if we can get an assault weapons ban reintroduced. But part of it is also looking at other sources of the violence. Because frankly, in my home town of Chicago, there’s an awful lot of violence and they’re not using AK-47s. They’re using cheap hand guns.
The president has kept his gun control agenda under wraps during his first term, although in another off-teleprompter moment last year, Obama told the head of the Brady gun-ban group “we are working on it … we just have to go through a few processes, but under the radar.”

Fast and Furious was the Administration’s attempt to manipulate American public opinion to demand increased limitations on the 2nd Amendment by using the blood of dead Mexicans.
I understand the Dem-Cong’s fear of armed American citizens, but why do Obama and Holder hate Mexicans enough to see them killed by the 100′s? How badly have Mexican-U.S. foreign relations been hurt by this state-sponsored murder of the citizens of an ally and neighbor?
Because I don’t have an academic degree from an Ivy League institution, I’m incapable of understanding the Administrations’ reasoning.

Left-wing lib, obama will take away guns from our military and private citizens.
It makes defeating American so much easier for obama’s friends in Iran, Russia, China, Cuba, Syria and other hellholes.

Ironic that the libs are perfectly ok with supplying arms to criminals that they KNOW will be used for nefarious purposes, and at the same time want to limit access by law abiding citizens.
He may believe in the second amendment, as in acknowledge that there is one between the pesky first and who remembers the third, but he does not believe in the right of Americans to keep and bear arms. One need only to look at his “home town” of Chicago to see the future for Americans should he get re elected and have more flexibility.
“I believe in the second amendment.” Sure he does…he believes it can be taken out by decree, weakened piece by piece until it a becomes meaningless number between the then soon to be limited one and the who remembers third.

They cannot inflict their evil will upon us as long as we have the ability to fight back. You can bet the bastard would do everything in his power to disarm all of the law-abiding citizens if he were allowed another term.

How concerned are the Dems about Obama’s little off prompter jaunt? Well, when I showed up at work on Friday, there was a member from the Teamster local handing out literature. When I saw when lying in a trash can later I picked it up. It read “What has Barack Obama done to take away your 2nd Amendment Rights? Nothing.” It has a few quotes from left wing media sources saying that Obama really hasn’t done anything to compromise our rights. He screwed up badly and this is going to make a bad situation worse for them.
