Is Obama Buying the Election With His Welfare Explosion?
With the unprecedented budget explosion of means-tested, welfare-related entitlements, does Team Obama think it can buy the election?
It’s a cynical question. But I wouldn’t put it past that cynical bunch.
Remember Harry Hopkins, Franklin Roosevelt’s close aid? It was Hopkins who argued tax and tax, spend and spend, elect and elect. Sound familiar? And if I’m not mistaken, the high-tax, anti-rich, big-spending, redistributionist FDR is one of President Barack Obama’s idols.
So let’s take a look at some of the recent budget-explosion data points:
According to Jeff Sessions, the ranking Republican on the Senate Budget Committee, means-tested welfare programs soared to over $1 trillion last year. The federal government accounted for $750 billion of that, while $250 billion came from the states, which leveraged federal payments into even larger expenses.
Between 2008 and 2011, federal welfare payments have jumped 32 percent. Food stamps have surged, with 71 percent more spending on the program in 2011 compared with 2008. Health payments, principally Medicaid, have climbed 37 percent.
By the way, it’s not just the deep recession and weak recovery that’s driving up these programs. It’s a substantial eligibility expansion, which started under George W. Bush, but has gone much further under President Obama.

Welfare, cash for clunkers, free phones, free (crappy) medical care, free birth control, free abortions, unchecked immigration of people taking advantage of the freebees, free porterhouse, free lobster tails – it’s not a cynical question, it’s a rhetorical question!

Of course he’s trying. If you haven’t noticed it by now, you’re probably one of Luntz’s Dunces. I’m surprised he hasn’t said he’ll give everyone a million dollars if he’s elected.
He’s picked his voting blocs, and completely shut down even trying to get the most important bloc. The people who pay for it voting bloc.

The answer is NO, but he is trying!
This muslim will stop at NOTHING to get his second term and has the biggest set of crooks that money can buy helping him in every way they can.
If there is a lie or dirty underhanded and illeagl trick out there that he has not done yet I would be very surprised.
His last and final card to play will be the false-flag-lame-duck-christmass-attack by some of his alquieda masters so he can declair martial law for the fore-see-able future and suspending the elections until “order” is restored (which will never happen).

Growing the welfare rolls isn’t necessarily to Obama’s advantage. It seems no one takes into account many of these people are very angry that they’ve been forced to take assistance because they lost their job. No one can support their family on assistance like they can with an actual job, Many have lost their home, savings and way of life. They don’t long for more years of scraping by on the meager hand out from the government. I’d like to see actual figures of those who happy to be renting instead of owning, jobless and getting by on food stamps. It’s a false narrative from start to finish if you don’t know who actually wants to work and who is happy with being taken care of.

I did read a story (here?) last week about how, even in Chicago, the DNC hasn’t been anteing up for the walking around money that they normally shell out for vote buying. So even though obama’s tried to secure his base with promises of more freebies, I think there is a considerable component of all those people who are new to welfare hand-outs who would rather be working, earning a living and deciding how that money is spent rather than merely existing from month to month on the largesse of obama. Anyone who has not been raised in a household where EBT cards are part of their and their acquaintances’ lifestyles won’t be comfortable with the stigma of the personal failure welfare represents. If you’re able-bodied welfare is demoralizing.
