So Levi 501′s are $48 made by homosexual political prisoners in Chinese leper colonies. You need one pair of jeans. One. Buy it big enough in the waist as you age over the next ten years and remember to always “Roll down your cuffs!” as my mom always said as I came in the house to get rid of the dirt.

Still cheaper than a pair of Lucky jeans or the jeans I see in Sundance catalog (window shopping via the mail).

My $30 Long and Lean jeans from the Gap outlet mall work just fine. Butt looks good and they are hubby approved. *blush*

I come from garment town USA. My mother was a garment worker in this towns hay day. My mothers father made the world famous knitting machines the are named after the same town. There is an outlet for real quality that is missing from the world.

It was a hub of industry for almost everything from fine cloths to Railroads.

And if Bill from this same town can sell his stuff, so can Glenn sell his stuff.

My home town of Reading Pa. looks more like Detroit now.
I still can’t go there without eating lunch at the Crystal Palace and dinner at the Peanut Bar. Bill has the right idea. Let’s see how Glenn does.

There not $80.00, there closer to the $50.00, and Levi’s are so thin you can see thru them. I’ve got a couple pair of Carrharts that are pushing 5 years old. You should try a pair. You feel like your wearing a pair a pants. Rumor has it, they won’t sell to Barry. They got nothen that goes with that stupid helmet.

I wear jeans most of the time. I think it is a good start for Beck and I believe his intentions are good. For a good product I don’t mind the price.
I would buy a pair or two IF they came in my length. 34″ is 2″ too long. The web site says you can hem them.
Of course you can but that is BS, nobody puts a professional hem like the factory. Therefore it ruins the whole deal.
And no, I will NEVER roll the cuffs.

If Beck has a clearance sale, let me know if a ladies’ size 4 is available.

Not knocking someone for selling their stuff at whatever price they want to, but… Nah that’s okay. I have to actually BE there to try them on [I have long legs] and I buy no pair of pants, jeans or slacks, that cost more than $30 bucks. :) Plus, the less “Trendy” an item is, the happier I am.

I’ve spent $20- $30 on jeans before and managed to keep them for quite a few years. The $$$ price isn’t always quality.

This is what free market is all about. Price vs quality vs use.
during the 80′s I would of spent $129 for a pair of jeans that didn’t 1)bleed out 2)shred 3)holes in the knees, butt, crouch. All in the name of fashion.

BFH — Beck said Levi’s made like his and made in the USA (apparently they make a limited amount) go for $300.

He also says this is the last pair you’ll ever need.

When Levi’s started advertising that “We’re the uniform of the progressive revolution,” I quit them. When the economy picks up, I’ll happily buy Beck’s made-in-the-USA jeans.

What a schmuck…but there are Beckbots who’ll fork out the 130 for them because Beck told them to.

A key characteristic of Levis used to be the weight of their cotton fabric, I think it was 14 oz. Today, it must be around 8 oz. and thin as a dress shirt. No good for real work. My husband, a general contractor, goes through 3-4 pair/year (the right knee), so now buys Lee. I think the best value is Costco’s blue denim work jeans. Carhart is all uppity now and costs way more than it should, even if their product is good. Once you see a brand name all over the place, you know you’re paying for marketing.

I had a girlfriend in California who wore $200.00 jeans with the knees already blown out from the factory. WTF?
Here in Redneckville a few months ago a lady friend bought me five pairs of brand new Wrangler jeans at a yard sale for $1.50 each. And they are better built than the Levis I wear. I guess you just have to know where to shop.

My son got me a pair of 5.11 tactical pants for my birthday earlier this year and they are just fantastic. Pockets for weapons magazines, cell phone, knife, whatever a conservative might want to carry in this time of war. Very tough fabric and comfortable. They are designed so that you don’t have to sit on your wallet or whatever is in your back pockets. Best pants I have ever owned. They look good too.

The funny thing is ; No matter how much or how little you’ve paid for your jeans, once you stain them- drop paint on them- accidentally bleached them- ripped them or busted a zipper, etc.
    They’re done for. LoL

I don’t own a single piece of clothing worth $130.

Hell, I paid $8 for a pair of Levis with the tags still on ‘em at the thrift store. I felt like I’d made a splurge!

My husband and I both work and have three mouths to feed. If I spent that much on a pair of damn pants I would feel sooooo guilty. Geeez, as much as those pants cost I’d consider them formal attire!

I would have a lot more respect for Beck, who claims to know the hardship this administration has put folks like us through to make something affordable with even a tiny bit of quality to it.
