The New Civil Rights Fight
Teresa Wagner’s colleagues at the University of Iowa’s law school called her smart, driven, and passionate, but somehow she was still passed over for every new position.
Wagner claims that’s because she wasn’t liberal enough for her academic bosses in a lawsuit that’s being watched closely by those who’ve long claimed universities have a left-leaning bias.

A federal trial will begin Monday in Davenport where Wagner will attempt to proved the school faculty blackballed her because she opposed abortion rights, gay marriage and euthanasia while working as a lawyer for the Family Research Council and the National Right to Life Committee in Washington.

Pull all federal funding from all schools and universities. Period. Now let’s see how liberal they remain when the gravy train no longer has a stop at their institution.

“Attorneys watching the case say the outcome could affect academic hiring negatively if schools begin taking a candidate’s politics into account.”
I thought her whole point is that schools have been systematically taking candidates’ politics into account; the last sentence of the Daily Mail’s story makes no sense to me.

Liberals are tolerant, open minded, intelligent, free thinking, and dog-gonnit- just nicer folks than those awful conservatives.
That’s why they have permission to slander, lie, cheat, and discriminate against conservatives. It’s OK for them to unleash the most hateful, vicious, and downright vile attacks on anyone who disagrees with them,
because they are- you know- just better people.

She’s a radical….because she’s opposed to slaughtering babies, old people…and the redefinition of marriage? Have we become Nazi Germany?

Good on her, I hope she wins and newspapers on this continent actually report on it.

It stands to reason that if the leftist teachers at colleges grade according to political ideology that those teachers have an ideological axe to grind against anyone who doesn’t favor their thinking. We shouldn’t stop with the Dept. of Ed., the entire university/college system in this country needs to be uprooted and reformed. I hope this woman wins her suit.
Good news to share: I have an awesome next door neighbor who is the director of education research at the Washington Policy Center, a non-partisan, conservative-leaning think tank in WA state. It is because of the work of her and her colleagues that the best charter school legislation in the country will be up for a vote and stands an excellent chance of passing! Here’s the link: Share a comment on Liv’s blog if you’re inclined. She could use your good wishes — it’s been such a lonely fight here in the People’s Republic of Washington.

No offense intended but I actually thought that was a photoshop of John Edwards. A little make up and some eyebrow trimming might keep the next guy from making that same misjudgement.
Sorry, no offense mam.

@Stranded: Your solution is so infantile and thoughtless. Which is why those who have spent decades sucking at the government teat while creating layers of lard from the faculty lounge will never come willingly to the only solution.
