Years ago I read an article in Nation Review about an exchange of letters between a farmer and EPA. It seemed that the farmer had a dam on his property that the EPA wanted removed. The exchange was brilliant; The EPA’s threatening and boisterous letters were no match for the farmer’s cool explainations. He wrote like Mark Twain. The EPA wrote like brueaucrats. The long and the short of it was that the dam was built and rebuilt by beavers.
Damn, I wish I could find that article.

@Bad Brad… yeah, those “Slow Children Playing” signs burn me up. Why are parents letting their slow children play in the street? If the kids are that sluggish, at least confine to a fenced-in back yard, so they don’t get run over or something. Nope. Instead, irresponsible parents let their semi-catatonic brats creep around in the road and stall traffic, and the city, in all it’s bureaucratic brilliance, addresses the problem by putting up a stupid sign.

reminds me of the woman that was sure that the warmer than average spring was caused by changing the date of observing daylight savings times to 3 weeks earlier in the spring.
Bet she also did not know that Titanic was a real ship until we hit the 100th anniversary of the sinking. I sure hope she hits a deer on the way to the polls so that she does not make it there in time to vote, we know which way someone that out of touch with reality would cast hers.

I think she was just yanking these guys and did a brilliant job. There’s stunned silence halfway through when she stops talking for a second and the radio jocks brains try to shift back into gear. I wish she could have done this to Rush though. He would have picked it up and run with it with her for a few minutes that the deer would never forget.
