During my experience as both an enlisted man and as an officer, the hand salute was considered as a display of honor and respect among/between warriors. THE WON displays a lack of respect to his Marines by rendering a half-ass salute while gabbing on a cell phone.
You receive respect by giving respect. The Choom-in-Chief is too clueless to understand that. Our troops do not deserve the likes of this imbecile. THE WON is qualified to be Commander-in-Chief due to the Constitution, but otherwise he has no business being at the top of the chain-of-command.

I was discussing this exact scenario with a veteran a couple weeks ago. I mentioned how humiliating it must be for the servicemen to have to salute Skid. He shared a little military secret with me. For the times they find themselves having to salute an officer unworthy of his position, they still administer the salute, but when doing so, their ring and pinky fingers seem to draw back slightly while doing so. Bet yer ass Barry has received many of the modified salutes.
