Don’t underestimate Biden. Anyone who’s been in the Senate for 40 years knows how to talk and talk fast. He’ll come out swinging for the fences. Don’t assume he’s too stupid for this.

and Papadoc is right, Uncle Joe will be the amiable funny uncle and he does know Washington. I think Republicans will love Ryan, but the progs will see him as a robot…intelligence scares progs.

The only way to get 0bama/Bidet off their game is to remove the structure to which they are familiar. Barry had no structure in the first debate. Personally, I think that was planned so 0bama will look like the comeback kid in Debate 2: The Sequel.

In the VP debate, there will be plenty of structure to keep Biden’s mouth in check. What they have been instructing him to do for the last week is to answer the question, then shut up! They may already have the questions and have been instructing Biden on appropriate answers of appropriate length.

Wait and see. Free-Range Biden looks and sounds like a drunk family member at New Years. Structured Biden will look okay. What we need is for him to look TOO structured — almost robotic. That will be the giveaway.

Hopefully, he does have the questions and with any luck, he will answer the NEXT question. Come on, Joe! We’re countin’ on ya!

    I agree with Grayscape.
Slow Joe is smart enough to know that it’s all up to him.
If he blows this, it’ll be devastating to what’s left of the Won’s campaign.

I think he will try to play it both ways…good ole affable Joey, playing up the schmooze for the TV audience, “baffling them with bullshit”, which is what he does best.
And he will be aggressive, condescending, and nasty to Ryan, in an attempt to confuse the issues and demonize R & R.

The problem is, as in last week’s debate, Ryan will not take it. He could outdebate Joey in his sleep.

Unfortunately, a lot depends on the moderator, Martha Raddatz, a longtime Obamabot.

Ok to all that, but is slow Joe prepared for Ryan’s zingers or will he try to outzing him and get lost in the process?

I just want to see Biden start yelling like a banshee if Ryan says something that pisses him off. His hystrionics are a blast.

Romney and Ryan both should address the charges of “liar” head on, give specifics that stand on merit, and remind these two goons that they don’t need them to define who they are.

If I recall, Sarah Palin held her own against Biden in 2008, even without the support of McCain’s handlers. Paul Ryan will do fine.

Cuddly Uncle Joe will come off as mean, nasty and a smart alec. The country is so ready for a young, good looking, intelligent person who doesn’t get rattled (remember Ryan’s response to the preezy?).

    It’s hard to fake integrity.

There is not enough hours in six days to go from full time buffoon to to a skilled debater no matter what coaching he gets.

Ryan can fly by the seat of his pants, Joe can’t loose sight of the instrument panel.

Going off script will be Joe Blows undoing.

I’m quite confidant in Paul Ryan standing up against Biden reiterating the same messages of Obama’s failed campaign.

Ryan: “You tried your best, and you’ve failed miserably! The lesson is, never try.”

    Ha ha ha!

Slowjoe will try to snowball Paul with an avalanch of unsubstantiated claims and accusations, with the intent of trying to keep Ryan on the defensive – defending lies and innuendos, unfortunately. Ryan will have to cut that tactic off from the beginning.

@Jethro — You are correct. Biden was the “seasoned veteran” while Palin was the newbie. The liberals were expecting him to mop the floor with her. But she won! Had it even been a draw, she would have won. Biden should have won easily but he didn’t.

The only things that I don’t like this time is the press doing everything they can to get 0bama re-elected and Raddatz who should recuse herself but won’t because she can help Biden.
