Study: ‘Green’ cars might cause as much or more pollution than gas cars

Electric cars might cause as much or more pollution than conventional gas vehicles, according to researchers at the Norwegian University of Science and Technology.
According to a study published in the Journal of Industrial Ecology, “the production phase of electric vehicles
proved substantially more environmentally intensive” than the production process for traditional gas-powered cars.
Specifically, the study found that electric car factories can emit more toxic waste than gas-burning car factories. And greenhouse gas emissions rise exponentially if coal is used to produce the electricity necessary to charge “green” vehicles, according to the study.

Apparently this study did not include gubbermint subsidies. So add to this the environmental impact of millions of taxpayers driving their SUV’s to work so we can throw $10K towards each purchase of a Dolt.

Obama meet unintended consequences. UC has been dogging you for 4 years now and I think its time the two of you get formally acquainted. UC is going to right behind you with every new regulation, mandate and policy you implement while you are president.
UC doesn’t look very nice, smells bad and behaves inappropriately (sometimes he even kills people). But hey, you’ve created him, time for you to get to know him better. We’ve had to live with him since you took office.

If Al Gore,
who wouldn’t understand Science if it fell on his foot like an anvil,
yowls repeatedly about Climate Change™, Anthropogenic Global Warming™ and ‘endangered’ polar bears that are currently overrunning their habitat because they are SO numerous,
how is that NOT yelling “Fire !” in a crowded theater ?!

Norwegian University of Science and Technology? Isn’t that the same school that found moose farts to be the primary cause of global warming?

Looks like Adam Smith’s Invisible pimp hand has slapped Barry upside the head. But, eh, no matter. He and the unions effectively stole millions of dollars from we the taxpayer saps. Mission accomplished.

Give all the leftists what they want — human-powered pedal cars — so they won’t look so hypocritical driving the only reliable vehicles we have — gas burners.

How about the extra pollution caused from printing more money to subsidize the green junk-mobiles. The pollution from the tow trucks after a Chevy Volt “Auto Flambe” and pollution from a Windmill Flambe. What about the CO2 released by libs bloviating about the benefits of green jobs and green cars? Did you account for the CO2 released by union Volt auto workers having more time and money to pop open more beer cans the methane they emit? Then there’s the CO2 released by Volt owners straining themselves to push it out of the way of reliable all gas cars!

The article goes on to say that electric cars will be greener at some unspecified time in the future when countries produce more wind and solar energy and when technology improves in some imaginary way.
