Cindy Sheehan: Bewitched, Bothered and Totally Bewildered

Home - by - January 17, 2010 - 12:19 America/New_York - 41 Comments

Cindy Sheehan, ever desperate for attention, tried to flaunt her Code Pink-y wares in front of the boys on the Left once again. One problem: she sort of went to the wrong house. The Washington Post has more:

LANGLEY, Va. — A group led by anti-war activist Cindy Sheehan has protested near the CIA’s headquarters and former Vice President Dick Cheney‘s home in northern Virginia.

The group of about 70 people rallied alongside a highway near the CIA compound Saturday. About half then marched to Cheney’s nearby street and stayed for 20 minutes. Police kept them from going down his street.

She says using drones is “cowardly” and “immoral.”

Oh, Cindy. It is not “cool” nor “hip” nor “edgy” to protest all Truth to Power-y when you are The Man ™ now. I know it’s hard and you are confused. After years of bratty and petulant behavior, it is difficult to realize that you have to be grown-ups now that your super dreamy dude is in charge. I also know it is made all the harder by the fact that he doesn’t seem to realize he is in charge either, nor does he have a clue how to, you know, govern, but still. Time to grow up now that your golden boy is POTUS (that means President of the United States. It isn’t a drug reference. I suspect that might confuse you as well).

If you want to protest now, you’ll need to ditch your Code Pink cohorts and start acting like normal citizens. See, we protest for actual valid reasons. And (this may be the hardest part for you) we are sane. We also attempt to look nice when going out in public and have been known to even shave our legs and wear bras. Often, we fix our hair and use cosmetics. Egads!

Thanks for the giggles, though. I’m snickering at your “cowardly” comment. Hmm, what do you call protesting outside of the home of the VICE President — from the previous administration — instead of protesting the current President? Either it’s that whole confused about being The Man ™ now thing or it is a pitiful attempt try to make Obama jealous. I think it is the latter. You are desperately trying to get Obama’s attention and are trying to make him jealous by protesting outside of Cheney’s house. Cindy, Cindy– did you not learn anything from John Cusack? Boom box. Peter Gabriel. “In Your Eyes.” Look into it. Alas, even that may fail for you. It’s pretty obvious that if Obama ever passes a note to you in homeroom, it would say this (in typical leftist fashion; you’ve served his purpose and he has no further use for you):

Sorry, Cindy, I’m Just Not That Into You

This woman is such a loon! – Every time I think we’ve finally heard the last of her, she turns up again! I find her so reprehensible that I can’t even pity her! – Used up and then tossed out by the left like the cheap attention whore she is. Guess what Cindy! – Your 15 minutes of fame are over! Go back to your tree-house or rubber room or whatever Port-O-Let you reside in and eat dinner in the basement!

Yup, what Snark said. What a clown this woman is / was / has been. Yikes!

    This sentence is a classic:

“Oh, Cindy. It is not “cool” nor “hip” nor “edgy” to protest all Truth to Power-y when you are The Man ™ now.”

Which brings me to my point. Why would anybody in politics want to be “cool” or “hip” or “edgy”, when that is the job of Hollyweird and Rock Stars?

Politicians need to relearn the fact that they work for us — AND THEY ARE NOT COOL!!!

While i love reading snark and tight tshirts, I do have pity for Cindy. She lost her son in the service of this country. I do not condone her actions, in fact I oppose them. But if we leave her alone, she and her 3 friends will either toil in anonimity or give it up for a bad job. I think its clear she is not lucid.

By the way, I followed the link to the story, where they had a little slide show featuring Cindy and her moron friends. Too bad she didn’t have a bag over her head like them! No, Cindy has a new Olivia Walton-esque egg-hat! – In one photo, she is screaming into a bullhorn, her mouth opened so wide it looks like a bear trap. (Seems someone talented with photoshop could do something with that one!)

@Mark – Cindy’s son gave his life for the country he believed in, God rest him. She might as well have taken a squat on his grave with her ridiculous ranting. I hope she gets fed into a wood-chipper.

I saw a code pink volkswagen (what was left of it) go flying down the highway once. Pretty bad shape. This woman has about as much political influence as the five words in a local flyer ad for a dog sitter. Pathetic, lame, sad, sad, pathetic, lame. Geesh lady, get some help. Her son VOLUNTEERED, knowing what the cost of the trip could be. Just like the REAMS of others of USA, Canada, Brits, et al soldiers, over there right now, some taking direct hits in the chest from rocket fire. Unbelievable.

I’ve given Sheehan much more slack than her code pink cohorts because of her loss, but I don’t feel obligated to give her eternal carte blanche.

There is video (I wish I could remember where) of her saying “this country is not worth dying for” long before Casey paid the ultimate sacrifice.

And if I remember correctly she has sacrificed her marriage and relationship with her surviving children to wander coast to coast insisting her son’s death was in vain. The fact that that is her true feeling is what I pity her for the most.

For the longest time, Sheehan didn’t even bother to place a proper headstone on her son’s grave. Ironic isn’t it: he died to preserve her right to protect. She dishonors him and the rest of the fallen by her lunatic rants. She’s too invested
in herself to see the idiocy of her actions or admit she is WRONG.

The key word here is COWARDLY.
The objection to the use of drones seems to be that it is an “unfair” advantage in the war.
How can this be interpreted in any other way than to say that you are rooting for the other guys?

This is the same sentiment that the homunculus Maher made when he called our pilots cowards for dropping bombs out of anti-aircraft range.

If Maher fell on the subway tracks and was holding his hand out for help as a speeding train came, I would point and laugh.

Yeppers. It’s the same reason she said the things @kill_truck pointed out about how “this country isn’t worth dying for”.

She is rooting AGAINST America. Her son fought FOR this Country. He deserves the utmost respect and he will *always* have it from me.

    She doesn’t.

Supposedly, Sheehan was upset that her son was killed in warfare. So now, when the military is using drones to keep our soldiers more out of harm’s way, she is upset we are using drones? Who, or what is she rooting for?

I am, though, suitably impressed that Dick Cheney still has considerable clout as Vice President of the United States. What – Cheney is no longer in government service? I am now more confused than Cindy Sheehan.

Incidentally, if Bill Maher fell on the subway tracks, I have plenty of witnesses who will say I didn’t push him.

I’d very much appreciate some one here explaining something. If – as some here have said or implied – Cindy Sheehan’s son Casey died defending our rights as Americans, why is it not rank hypocrisy to excoriate her for exercising those rights?

I’m not talking about excoriating her views, just her right to expound them.

And McHL and those who have agreed…a *wood* *chipper*? REALLY? You should be ashamed.

It should be obvious why she’s stalking Cheney. Even Cindy Sheehan has realized the MSM are now swooning, blatant suck-ups to the Obama administration. If she went after them, reporters would simply look the other way.

But you can bet any incident between her and private citizens like Cheney, Bush, or Palin will get lots of disproportionate coverage. Such is the contemptible state of American journalism today; Kool-Aid guzzling subscribers to a now-fading cult of personality.

If Sheehan wants to show courage she could go to Saudi Arabia and demonstrate about something. Demonstrating about anything in the US requires no courage of any sort – moral or physical. It’s a right. It’s guaranteed. In 3 days Cheney will not have been VP for a year – Sheehan needs to get in touch with the real cowards – the ones like her, who blame Bush for everything. How many drones has Cheney sent over ragheadland in the past year?
