Gramps says this is the last auction. He’s threatened to retire before but, this time feels different. He sounds ready, so I flew home to share the story of Robert Merry Auction Co. and the greatest auctioneer you’ll ever hear.

Another non poll and politicky video for you- mostly because I am missing my folks, the Midwest and I would love to go have breakfast at Bob Evans this morning. *sigh*

My eyes are a waterin, love those Indiana farm and estate auctions, but your Granpa and your Grandmothers early pics;(sniff) That hair, my mother had a hairdo just like it, now all those memories are floddin back on me and I am cryin and blubberin like a damn kid who misses their mommy.

Well,i do miss my parents, who married in 46, Dad served in North Africa in WW2, the same generation as your Grandparents,we were farmers and went to auctions all the time, and then we had our own auction 30 years ago.

Embrace your heritage illustr8r,and thank God you have your Grandparents yet,so grand! Make sure you tell them you love them.

Know what you mean about missing the midwest. Went back home to Illinois in August for my aunt and uncle’s 50th anniversary and it was so nice just to sit and BS with them.

Thanks for sharing illustr8r. Truly a patriot and credit to the nation. You have much to take pride in from your elders.

Really nice story. Thoroughly enjoyed this vid.

In the restaurant, did Gramps say “Gag a maggot”?
    What a cool guy.

Sorry guys, I guess my paragraph separations weren’t clear. This tribute isn’t about my grandparents. The young man in the video made this about his grandpa.

After viewing it – it made me nostalgic and homesick. So, I thought you all might enjoy it too. I miss my Midwest roots and those small farming communities and visiting my grandparents on Sundays. They are all long gone now. Sorry again about the confusion.

My old man was a WWII veteran. Every day I think of a question I wish I could ask him. I placed his VFW headstone myself.
Ask the questions while you have the chance. Get your genealogy set straight with your elders too before they pass so as not to lose it forever.

    Great video.
