Two of the most idiotic leftist notions have been repeated way too often this past month.
1- “The Muslim of the Innocence video, or Pamela Geller’s “Savage Ad,” is like yelling ‘FIRE” in a crowded theater.”
Really? How so?
Well, as the leftists explain it’s because you are responsible for the consequences of your speech. If a panic ensues and people are trampled and killed you can be indicted.
Yes, Professor Obvious, that’s true. But it’s only true if there is no fire. It’s not illegal to shout the truth. I would also expect some consequences if I prevented someone from shouting fire, because it was my opinion that there was no fire, or that the fire wasn’t really all that big or dangerous, and then people were burned to death.
Chew on that, idiots.
2- “The rich don’t create jobs, customers create jobs.”
This could be even more imbecilic than the first declaration,
Businesses take the risk that what they’re providing will have value to “potential” customers. Businesses balance the cost while trying to provide the best quality and convenience within a profit margin.
The customer adds a component that the businessman cannot control. They weigh whether a service or product is a necessity. Businesses do their best to try and convince someone that their product is something they cannot do without, but ultimately the customer is in charge. But are they building the business?
Tell me, what was the demand for a product before it existed? What chance did the customer take? What pledge did they give a risk taker that they will buy the product and “create jobs?”
The first “job” that is created by a business is the job of risk taker. All other jobs are the children of that mother. The business grows not because of the customer, but because of someone’s inspiration, sacrifice, hard work and wise choices.
