The Overlooked Gaffe That Should Be Exploited
I caught it. Illustr8r caught it. I thought it was huge but heard no one talking about it in the immediate post-debate analysis.
The momentary slip by Obama reveals his worldview, it vindicates Romney’s 47% comment and it highlights the energy Obama has to spend every waking moment in order to hide the real Obama from the public. No, he didn’t say, “as a gay man, I believe…”
He said this-
In President Obama’s closing statement at last night’s debate, he seemed to make a remarkable slip. “All those things are designed to make sure that the American people, their genius, their grit, their determination, is — is channeled and — and they have an opportunity to succeed. And everybody’s getting a fair shot. And everybody’s getting a fair share,” Obama said, before quickly correcting himself and adding.
“[E]verybody’s doing a fair share, and everybody’s playing by the same rules,” he added.
The president made the statement in conjunction with defending his time in office. “You know, four years ago, I said that I’m not a perfect man and I wouldn’t be a perfect president. And that’s probably a promise that Governor Romney thinks I’ve kept. But I also promised that I’d fight every single day on behalf of the American people, the middle class, and all those who were striving to get into the middle class. I’ve kept that promise and if you’ll vote for me, then I promise I’ll fight just as hard in a second term,” Obama concluded.
I would hope that that clip gets put into a campaign ad for Romney.

Hey, I heard it! And just as soon as he said it he got a bit of a shocked look on his face and followed it with “…everybody does a fair share.” We had a good laugh here, too, because his face had the look of someone who’s just had a big, audible fart. He was grovelling at that point — “if you vote for me..” blah, blah, blah, squeak.

Four years after telling Plumber Joe on a rope line that he wanted to spread the wealth, he backs it up with this revealing slip.

At the beginning of the debate, I told my wife that if he said “fair share” that I was going through the TV.

There was actually a second major gaffe in that closing statement.
“….But I also promised that I’d fight every single day on behalf of the American people, the middle class, and all those who were striving to get into the middle class. I’ve kept that promise and if you’ll vote for me, then I promise I’ll fight just as hard in a second term….”
Every NFL team has 53 players who fight hard every single day of the season to start or stay on the team. At the end of the season, the coaches evaluate their performance and many are not re-signed or cut the next year.
Mr. President, it’s not enough to fight hard every single day. You need to produce results, which you have not done in four years. You said that you were going to fight just hard the next four years, so I would expect the same results – unacceptable.
No thanks. Enjoy your retirement in Hawaii.

It SHOULD be exploited — you’re absolutely right. And it should be compared to Joe’s original statement along with the “2016″ film and the recent video of his racist rant in ’07, Carlson’s video.

@Mountain Dog the next debate will be Ryan Biden on the 11 in Kentucky.
After that will be a town hall style meeting at Hofstra University out on Long Island on the 16th. Tickets are for Hofstra students only.
The last debate is on the 22 in Florida. Its suppose to be the same format as the 1st debate.
So it looks like O will have to continue to debate sans TeleNanny.

Romney missed another opportunity to hammer Barry. When talking about the financial crisis of ’08 Barry said there were a lot of causes, including bankers talking people into taking out mortgages they couldn’t afford. Mittens should have immediately shot back with Soetoro’s having represented ACORN in a lawsuit in Chicago that forced Citibank to do exactly that.
