Bonnie and Clyde’s Guns Sell at Auction for over 1/2 a mil

Bonnie Parker’s Colt .38 snub-nosed revolver sold for $264,000, while Clyde Barrow’s Colt .45 sold for $240,000, CNN reported Monday.
The auctioneer said Parker’s revolver was taped to her leg and Barrow’s was found in his waistband the day they were both killed in a shootout with police in 1934.

@ JF, I’m pretty sure it was too.
I have guns pretty similar to both.
I doubt they’ll bring that sort of money.
Then again, I’m not famous… or dead.

“… Parker’s revolver was taped to her leg and Barrow’s was found in his waistband…
Rule #1: In a gunfight it is always best to actually utilize your firearm of choice.
Tip for the Kiddies: Confucius say: “Man who have gun in waistband is aimed to go off uncocked.”

You can probably expect those to go for about twice that amount when they come up at auction about ten years from now.

“Parker’s revolver was taped to her leg”
How much did her leg sell for?
You do know that the press reporters on the scene cut locks of her hair and pieces of her clothing to keep or sell as souvenirs.
Hurst delighted in alleging that body parts were also saved as souvenirs.
Wait…
Clyde says he wants to know what happened to the silver dollar he had in his pocket?

Rando. It says on the gun Reading left to right. Walther, Made in Germany, Carl Walter Waffenfabrik ulm/do Modell ppk/s cal.9mmkurz. On the right side it says Interarms, Alexandria, Virginia. What does it all mean?

Guns are the best investment one can possibly make. They will never lose their value and nobody can take them from you as long as you have enough ammo.

My wife has a .38 and I’ve got a .45. Now all we need is a couple of BAR’s.

MOe- It’s a German-made (Ulm is the city) Walther PPK/s , a slightly larger version of the original handgun made since the 1930′s. Interarms was the importer. It has two panel grips (instead of the wraparound style) and holds one round more than the PPK. 9mm kurtz translates to 9mm short, that is, .380. It is generally regarded as a top quality pistol. I love mine.
