DNC predicts Romney will win first debate vs. Obama
It’s a further lowering of expectations ahead of the first debate in Denver next week. Democratic National Committee spokesman Brad Woodhouse tells Fox News he thinks Republican presidential nominee Mitt Romney will win.
Woodhouse says the way the DNC sees it, challengers win the first debate when they are up against incumbents.
“Mitt Romney has had a lot more time to debate, the president has not debated in the past four years in terms, of a campaign debate. I think the president will hold his own, but he’s not known for sound bites. And these are 60 second, 90 second responses.”
Woodhouse says Democrats are “trying to be realistic about expectations” because the president is “lucky to be able to devote three consecutive hours to debate preparation.”
Woodhouse also paints Romney as a good debater and gives him credit for “dispatching Newt Gingrich” who Woodhouse considers a pretty good debater.

The press will tell the American public that Obama won the debates and the public will believe it.

With my hectic schedule of playing pool, watching re-runs, and scratching my ass, I will not be able to watch the debates. However, I am looking forward to the highlights and comments. There is absolutely nothing that either candidate can say in the debates that will cause me to change the way I intend to vote.

Romney better win!
He better wipe the floor with that Stealth Muslim Barack Insane Obama.
If Romeny loses our country is lost and gone forever!
It’s do or die, now or never!
Considering Obama’s appalling record, winning SHOULD BE easy.

This bs that the dnc, with media’s complicity, plays about lowering expectations of barry’s debate performance is, I think, even more spurious than at first glance. It’s lucky for him that the first debate is not focused on foreign policy because in the wake of obvious, enormous and multiple failures in the ME (Libya/security, Egypt/muslim brotherhood, Afghanistan/53 deaths this year from Afghani soldiers), and the now-obvious cover-up that is taking place amongst State and the WH regarding Libya, he will not only lose that debate but should be hauled off he stage in handcuffs.
The DNC is hoping that by engaging in the usual “lowered expectations” garbage along with the ever-reliable support from media, that just like everything else this GE cycle, barry will end up where he began and that that, along with the typical percentage of voter fraud, will find him home and dry in November.
That’s the conventional wisdom. But I think the October Surprise is the 41% of likely voters who identify themselves as Tea Party. That’s a big number and you haven’t heard media try to explain that yet. Good luck to them in trying, too.
You know, all the news media, FOX included, keep on about how little attention the average voter is paying to daily events in the ME, details about the economy, etc. That may be true for people who are not likely to vote, but I don’t think that’s true for a majority of conservative voters this year. And since when has the Left-biased media ever paid much attention to conservatives?

…”the president has not debated in the past four years…” – Woodhouse basically admitting that all those press conferences since 2008 were dog-and-pony shows with softball questions.
Now it’s time for some hardball – doubtful if the MSM is capable of that.

Loretta has a good point, but I’ll toss out another: He HAS debated in the last 4 years, but the debate usually ended with Obama saying ” I won”, and his ‘pulling rank’ as the Prez.

If the debate happens, and Obama starts saying “uh…ummm…well…uh…ummmm” Romney says…”Do you need a cigarette break Mr. President?”

Team Obama tries to set expectations: “Presidential challengers benefit just by being on the same stage as the incumbent,” it said.
Sensationalism, drama, and suspense are what the MSM are all about. They are materially invested in the paradigm of a “Race too close to call”.
We won’t see “Romney whiffed it and is now almost certain to lose” stories.
No. The media’s interest is in “Romney’s coming back” stories. To shape the horse race as a close one.
The media would be looking for an Obama comeback if he were down in the polls as Romney is.
CNN: the debate is “Romney’s last chance”.
FOX: the debate is our “first chance to see the REAL shape of the race”.
No matter what happens in the debate, the MSM will try to wrap it as a Romney comeback.

Drinking game for Debate night: Every time the Great Orator says “uh, uh”, take a drink. Every time he says “I”, “my”, take a drink.
You’ll be face-down within the first ten minutes.
You’ll thank me when you realized you passed out before Pravda, right after the debate, declares that Dear Leader is the greatest orator ever and that Romney might as well quit now to save himself the embarrassment of being the first person to get only 1 vote (himself) and even his wife and Ryan changed their votes after experiencing the milk & honey flowing from Obysmal’s upper orifice.
