Bill Ayers A Driving Force Behind Obama’s Federal School Curriculum
Accuracy in Media has a long and informative post about President Obama’s “Race to the Top” school program. Obama’s favorite domestic terrorist, Bill Ayers, is a driving force behind this push to nationalize education and dumb down our children. This is disturbing, to say the least.
Three years after the Department of Education announced a contest called Race-to-the-Top for $4.35 billion in stimulus funds, some parents, teachers, governors, and citizen and public policy groups are coming to an awful realization about the likely outcomes:
- A national curriculum called Common Core
- Regionalism, or the replacement of local governments by federally appointed bureaucrats
- A leveling of all schools to one, low national standard, and a redistribution of education funds among school districts
- An effective federal tracking of all students
- The loss of the option of avoiding the national curriculum and tests through private school and home school
Working behind the scenes, implementing these policies and writing the standards are associates from President Obama’s community organizing days.

I mean, I realize that all of the charges against him were dropped, but he’s admitted his own guilt.
There’s no law that says you have to hire someone regardless of what they’ve done, as long as they don’t have a federal conviction, is there?

They ask “What do you intend to be to contribute to our society?” and if you don’t turn out to be that – they come looking for you and the money they spent as a government on your education. I read a oomment from another reader at another blog a few months ago about Common Core. If there was only one reason to dismantle the Dept. of Ed., this would be it.
I gotta tell you, as the parent of a high school student in a fairly typical American high school, I’ve done battle time and again with school staff, including the principal over practices, comments and material that passes for “education”. In one instance a teacher remarked that “communism isn’t so bad.” That warranted a call to the state school ombudsman’s office.
Look at our kids. There’s the canary in the coal mine if there ever was one. Teachers inculcate our kids thoroughly with the white=bad, color=good, capitalism=imperialism=exploiters=bad, socialism=fair=good. If you try to explain to your kid that old truism “life’s not fair” they look at you like you’ve got lobsters crawling out of your ears and that you’re mean and uncaring.
I hate everything ayers and his kind stand for.

Stanley Kurtz mentioned this in a recent speech and said it was further explained in his book. He said he couldn’t believe it wasn’t getting major press.

To be a self-educated person, one needs a thirst for knowledge. I taught myself how to type using old-fashioned typing books from the Sixties; I studied English grammar and composition so that I could learn how to express myself and write all kinds of material. From plastics to printing, and from machine shop to accounting, I’m a jack-of-all-trades guy–who, unfortunately for various reasons, never made much money! But do these kids hunger for learning? The other day, a friend told me about sitting in a college classroom listening to some students bitching how they’ll have to pay attention the Calculus teacher and spend less time texting in back of the classroom. They actually might have to learn something! How absurd. We are in trouble, when we witness union teachers telling us how important and constructive they are to the learning environment of our children who rank 27th on a global scale in reading, science, and math. Twenty-seventh! God help us.
