Great show! Kramer is such a funny guy, he made that whole show. He knows about other “zones” too.
Those old VWs were prone to catch on fire because the carburetor was mounted above the distributor. I bought a whole van that had ignited for $50 back in the 70s, and it only took about $120 to get it running. Steel braided fuel lines !

Great pic. I used to live down the street from the guy who owned the Back-Up Pickup. It was a dodge of the same style but set up to drive backwards down the drag strip.
