Not liking the sponsors of it — just on the surface: John Conyers? Conyers?

Looks more like a great pathway to fraud, but isn’t that how the gov’t uses anything?

    From the link…
Duke professor William “Sandy” Darity teaches a socialIST policy class at Duke University.

    Fixed it.

This “professor” is a complete idiot. He’s just regurgitating old Marxist USSR claptrap. Their constitution guaranteed jobs to everyone too.

This is a sad excuse for education.

I noticed he mever mentioned just where the government would get the money to pay for these jobs.

Maybe the work corps could plant money trees! Yeah, that’s the ticket!

A new WPA program, don’t they know WPA used to stand for We Piss Around. That’s what it would amount to, useless jobs for doing nothing and just who is gonna pay for it. Oh, I know the taxpayers. Good grief, how stupid do they think we are.

    My plan:

6 months welfare for citizens with no criminal record.
3 year waiting period before re-qualifying for welfare.
12 month maximum total welfare over lifetime.

Wanna see the employment rate go up? Work or starve.

Typical liberal response to a lack of employment-give everybody a government job!
Does he take into account the fact that there are people out there who simply won’t work?

Hell, make em all MDs and let em do surgery on each other.

Darity says: “We still have levels of joblessness unmatched since the Great Depression. A federal job guarantee would provide a direct route to full employment.”

Henry Morgenthau, Roosevelt’s Treasury Secretary said:

We have tried spending money. We are spending more than we have ever spent before and it does not work.

I want to see this country prosperous. I want to see people get a job. I want to see people get enough to eat. We have never made good on our promises. . . .

I say after eight years of this Administration we have just as much unemployment as when we started. . . . And an enormous debt to boot.

Make every unemployed American a tenured professor at Duke and have all the professors pool their salaries into equal shares.

Well, the non-thinking forced birthers are out in force, are they not?

I rather *like* the idea. I live near the most, most beautiful Blue Ridge Parkway, with some of the best stone work in the nation. A WPA project.

If we can keep the SIEU away from it, restore some self-esteem of folk so depressed having looked for work for soooo long, go for it. (I know: everyone who wants to work *has* work in The Greater Forced Birthing Community, but…)

    Bernanke can print the money….

There are many infrastructure projects in America that need doing. Fund another Solyandra? Nope.

Help good, honest, hard-working people have a reason to get up in the morning, produce something useful and have a good, healthy tired at night? Yep.

I sold my car, today, to a woman whose husband lost his job in April. She’s turning in her “prettier, newer car” and, with the help of her parents, will cope, she says. I think her husband would take that WPA-like job and give you honest time for honest money. (…and probably not demand too much “honest money.”)

Cluck on, ye Forced Birthers, who have no tolerance for any but those who abide by your stupid sliding scare rules of morality.

And you are soooooo prissy and arrogant about it, as well. …Lady in Red

Nah, not really; but, I will be absolutely ok for as long as I live — and not a day or a penny longer.

It appears all the big bucks reside in the pockets of the smug farts, who impart morality to others.

…get ‘em out the birth canal! (Why no? Why would I be interested in anything beyond that? …beyond the birth canal…?

…Well, of course! If that child is maltreated, incarcerate the mom… her boyfriend! Life in prison! No tolerance! …put the little dearie in foster care…. kinda like a “rescue dog,” only different…)

Do any of you idiots know what the unemployment rate is in America? It is probably exceeding The Great Depression, counting real unemployment and underemployment.

I am soooooo glad and you and All Your Friends are doing so very well. I am ashamed you have so little compassion, esp. married to your forced birthing for all commitments.

LIR – you’ve been laying low lately. What finally brings you out from your back alley abortion clinic?

And why do you attack the readers here as being forced birthers, when it is a thread about a Keynesian/Socialist economic policy plan? Have you not fixed that broken record of yours?

    @LIR –

“….Do any of you idiots know what the unemployment rate is in America? It is probably exceeding The Great Depression, counting real unemployment and underemployment….”

Do you even understand that it is democratic socialist/stastist policies and economy killing over-regulation that is exascerbating the weak economy. And that if the sel-serving, statist politicians would get the fuck out of the way, then your poor irresponsible “have sex first, worry about the consequences later” friends would have a job and would be able to support their unintended consequences?

@Lady in Red — Printing paper notes ≠ money. Since you have no idea what money is, I won’t try to explain it to you because you can’t grasp the concept of what is and what is not money.

Since we now know that extra fed paper is not money, please tell us LIR, exactly how is the gov’t going to pay for all of this wonderful work like FDR’s failed WPA? If you want a hint, I suggest you read @Maudie’s comment above about what SecTreas Morganthau said about the epic fail of FDR spending money.

PS — No one is forcing anyone to birth a child. However, abortion is forced. Remember Kermit Gosnell?

    Oh dear!

    Good night, folk.

Let me leave you Forced Birthers with an idea:

that it would not be bad — would be good — if we could have an honest WHA.

…to fix bridges, build dams, make our infrastructure shine.

Fuck who pays for me: it is me and thee, regardless…

*I* know too many people who are suffering, need to work, pound a hammer, if need be.

This is the most bizarre thread I’ve seen here. With the least amount of logic. If this was a debate L.I.R. won. Abortion does not belong in this debate right now. Let’s just try and get are country back from Muzzy rule first, and then hash it out.

@Lady in Red: Let me spell it out for you with parentheses:

Henry Morgenthau, Roosevelt’s Treasury Secretary said in 1938:

“We have tried spending money (through the WPA). We are spending more than we have ever spent before and it does not work (the WPA).

I want to see this country prosperous (just like the Lady in Red). I want to see people get a job (just like the Lady in Red). I want to see people get enough to eat (just like the Lady in Red). We have never made good on our promises (using the WPA). . . .

I say after eight years of this Administration we have just as much unemployment as when we started (actually more). . . . And an enormous debt to boot (much more).”

Lady in Red, smarter than Morgenthau, Roosevelt, Marx, Lenin, Hitler, Mao, Ceaușescu, Pol Pot, Stalin, Castro, Chavez and Che combined!!!
