State Department attacks ‘disgusting’ CNN for using journal of dead ambassador to Libya ‘against family’s wishes’
Government officials have hit out at CNN for reporting on the personal journal of murdered ambassador Chris Stevens, saying they did so against the wishes of his family.
Anderson Cooper revealed on Friday night that the news channel had used the document as a source after finding it inside the U.S. consulate in Benghazi.
But a State Department spokesman on Friday claimed that CNN had promised not to mention the journal, and described their U-turn as ‘disgusting’ and ‘indefensible’.

New revelations: On Wednesday, Anderson Cooper, left, told Senator John McCain, right,
that a ‘source familiar with Ambassador Stevens’ thinking’ said the envoy was worried about security

If Fox had done that the DOJ would be pressing charges, and the left would have their panties in a twist over ‘gross improprieties”.

How does John McCain find any time for work? He is on Greta, CNN, and everywhere else. I find him wearisome and turn the channel. He’s one of the reasons we are in the mess we’re in with Obama. You should have tried harderThanks for the effort; now go away. I hope you lose to a conservative.

Kinda funny how the SD is calling an unsecured building crawling with reporters a ‘crime scene.’
Also, methinks they protest too much… The State Dept. only cares about this at all because the late ambassador’s journal shows them with their pants down, not because they care one whit about the family.

The fact that they found the ambassador’s journal is a bit scary. I wonder how many classified documents the savages and the CNN Commies found laying around. I know that this wasn’t a traditional embassy and just a rented house, but still they were performing at least some embassy functions in the house. The ambassador was most likely doing some type of clandestine work considering the other details of the incident that have emerged.

I am hoping that CNN’s free pass will expire when Romney starts taking out the trash. They need to be held accountable.

@Xavier–you are so correct and remember the DOJ would have to contact Media Matters to print a lot of stories about how criminally Fox had acted.

I’m impressed with the Comments at the DM.
It’s almost as if people are beginning to clue in.
The hypocrisy of the State Dept. to pretend to be outraged at CNN is astounding. It was ITS fault that the embassy was left a sitting duck, and the blood of the four killed is on its hands.
Which is not to excuse CNN. They are circling the bowl and probably thought that this diary would be a real “scoop”.
They are slime.

A gold star, and a gold medal for Anderson. If that journal had gone to the White House. The pages would have been removed before going to the family. No one would never know what was written on those pages. The Whitehouse has lied from the onset, one wonders if this all is part of their plan.
Don’t think for a minute that any of this would have been revealed. The Whitehouse would have given lots of money to Chrises family to keep quiet.
Hillary Clinton is being guided by her Pakistan aid who happens to be part of the Muslim Brotherhood .
Hillary Clinton should be fired……………. but 1st she should go to Libya as ambassador. She could wipe the blood off HER hands on the pillar next to Chrises .
Hillary Clinton ordered no ammunition in that security. Hillary Clinton and Barack Hussain Obama in my humble opinion are guilty guilty guilty guilty.
My God Almighty, Pelosi, Obama, Clinton, Axelrod, the cult of evil has got to be removed.
Thank You Anderson Cooper. Your the only one left in the mainstream mediawho dared to act like a real reporter. And now the Whitehouse is trying to kick you out. Don’t let them do it.
