SCANDAL: White House Revealed Names of SEAL and CIA Operators to Hollywood Filmmakers

Last July, a top Pentagon official gave two Hollywood filmmakers the name of a Navy SEAL involved in training the squad of commandos who carried out the raid that killed Osama bin Laden. Now, the Obama administration is fighting to keep that same name from the public.
In legal papers filed Friday in U.S. District Court in Washington, the Justice Department argued that the government is under no obligation to make public the SEAL’s name or the names of Central Intelligence Agency personnel involved simply because officials shared their names, partial names or identities with the makers of a forthcoming movie about the raid, “Zero Dark Thirty.”
“The CIA and DoD did not authorize the filmmakers to make the names they shared with them public, to publicly associate the individuals with the CIA or DoD, or to expose those individuals’ identity in any publicly released film, and there was no reason for the CIA or DoD to have believed that any of this would have happened,” the Justice Department brief says. “In fact, [Undersecretary of Defense for Intelligence Mike] Vickers specifically told [filmmaker] Mark Boal, in providing him with the name of someone he could talk to, that ‘the only thing we ask is that you not reveal his name in any way as a consultant.’”

Name a Seal no problem. Release your sealed papers, no way. Dano has it right, I will not Spend my money. If you want to read two books on what the Navy Seals are all about read Lone Survivor by Marcus Luttrell, it will make you proud to have Men like him defending us, and make you cry. Also read Inside Seal Team Six by Don Mann. These men work around the clock to keep us safe and should never be used by the president to score points. One thing you can bet on is none of them will vote for him.

I didn’t know Hollywood film makers had top secret clearance.
How long were they vetted, to get this?
What about others, like office workers, assistants, and spouses or significant others, that have access to this information?
The most important question is, WHY? Why did they need to know anything about these men? Why give them any personal information at all?
Aren’t there writers in Hollywood that are able to give these men some kind of backstory without their personal information being spread to every moron in LA?
Why was this at all necessary? Obama is a traitor, pure and simple.

I never knew it was legal to release classified information if you just asked the recipient to ‘keep it to themselves”.
I’m still under the impression from my handling of classified info that what was done is a crime.
One thing I do know. Elected representatives are neither vetted nor drug tested before being given a clearance.
