(THE BLAZE) The U.S. State Department is currently in negotiations with the Egyptian government for the transfer of custody of Omar Abdel-Rahman, also known as “the Blind Sheikh,” for humanitarian and health reasons, a source close to the the Obama administration told TheBlaze.

Don’t overlook the “Bubba” effect that the article mentioned. There have been persistent rumors of Valdemort and Axlerodent creating a manufactured crisis if they believe that they can]t win at the polls.
The “Bubba” effect would be to create such an outrage over the government’s action (e.g., releasing the blind sheikh, OWS, etc.), that the bitterclingers will pose such a national security risk that emperor would feel compelled to take “extraordinary measures”.

Of course he’ll release the Blind Sheik. Allahpundit over at HA¹ says there’s no benefit in it for Barry; I say Barry has wanted to release Abdel-Rahman all along for ideological reasons. The protests have given him a way to justify the release while blaming Americans and that pesky First Amendment at the same time. In my book that’s a win-win-win for Barry.
The question is, will he do it before the election? I’d bet my bottom dollar he’ll do it before the Inauguration, regardless of who wins.

Gore Vidal and Norman Mailer went so far as to stage public readings of “The Satanic Verses” even as Muslims rioted all over the world. I couldn’t find a video of that event, but I have an video of Rushdie reading a passage from “Satanic Verses” which obviously mocks Muhammad’s receiving his revelations from the Archangel Jibriil (Gabriel)In the passage, Mohammed is referred to as Mahound, the name used by Medieval Europe to demonize him as a pagan god. This recitation was televised on PBS in the year 2006; and hey, wasn’t that before Obama was president?
