Ashamed to be Associated With Obama Regime, GM Begs Gov. to Sell Stake

Now if General Motors is such a wondrous success story of the Obama years (along with killing bin Laden), why are they resisting the plea of for them to divest? “GM is alive and bin Laden is dead” was the mantra of the Democrat convention, so wouldn’t it make sense to capitalize now and rake in the cash for the taxpayers?

The Treasury Department is resisting General Motors’ push for the government to sell off its stake in the auto maker, The Wall Street Journal reports. Following a $50 billion bailout in 2009, the U.S. taxpayers now own almost 27% of the company. But the newspaper said GM executives are now chafing at that, saying it hurts the company’s reputation and its ability to attract top talent due to pay restrictions.

See how wonderful government control of industry is?

The new GM theme song should be “Hotel California”

“Last thing I remember, I was
    Running for the door
I had to find the passage back
To the place I was before
    ‘relax,’ said the night man,
    We are programmed to receive.
You can checkout any time you like,
    But you can never leave!”

The Punk OTUS can’t lose bragging rights on his “save”.

It would be a better vote getter selling off the GM stocks & adding that money to the treasury…but NO that wouldn’t fit his ego.

Gosh I just love that petard he’s getting shoved up his ass (the animal, not the orifice)

I grew up with Camaros, Vettes, Novas, Chevelles, Corvairs, etc.
It is like going to your 30 year High School reunion and seeing that not only did your old girfriend get fat, ugly, and nasty,…she married the biggest dumbass dickhead in the class.
    RIP Chevy.

The Avalanche is finished after the 2013 model.

The 2014 Suburban is being redesigned to be “lighter and more fuel-efficient.”

Remember what President Eisenhower said, “As goes General Motors, so goes the nation.”

    @Troy — My brother owned a ’64 Impala with a 409. He had a ’65 Corvair Monza 110 HP and a ’66 Corsa Turbo 180 HP Convertable. I had a ’65 Corsa Coupe 140 HP.

Now, they’re just so much socialist crap. When does GMC start making Trabants?

I had a 65 Chevy with a Corvette engine, F.I. heads, Cragars, posi track. Loved that car. And the chicks did too.
Now I have a truck with a camper shell on the bed, a 4.3 v-6, 24 MPG highway, 700 miles on one tank of gas, 15″ mud grips, I can pull up the computer codes with a paper clip, and can fix anything on it myself — without any help, sound system is great, A/C is R-12 freon recently charged up and much colder than that 134a shit — the thermometer in the dash vent usually reads about 34°F, it’s comfortable, reliable, and I can get parts for it cheap. I won’t ever need another truck, no shit!
And just for the fun of it, I’ll let you auto enthusiasts plug those numbers in and see if you can guess what it says on the front grill.

Oh, and I paid $2300 for it about 7 years ago. Yeah, pre-0bama vehicle.

I have to tell you, I’ve worked on police vehicles, City Hall vehicles including the mayor’s limousine, all makes and models, movie stars cars, stunt cars, just about anything you can think of, the best and the worst, so I consider myself to be a pretty fair judge of well made vehicles and this truck is very well made. I wouldn’t trade it for a new … anything.

    Happy Motoring!

2006 to 2008 GM are good years, and are “pre-obama” but still there is this stigma now that truly is undeniable.

Make a deal with the devil, “yer gonna have a bad time”

It would be most fitting if GM were to be PUNISHED for selling out the American taxpayers, capitalism, their shareholders, dealership owners, et al.

Render to Obama that which is Obama’s, and if no lesson is learned from all this deceit and destruction then it really would be for nothing.

Liberals are so economically (and morally) inferior that they think if McDonald’s was on one side of the street and Burger King on the other and one went out of business, half the people in town would starve to death.

Ditto with allowing GM to fail. If bankruptcy (renegotiating union thug contracts and pensions) had failed, Honda, Toyota, Nissan, Subaru, Mazda, Mitsubishi, Kia (and Ford) would have been happy to fill the void as would all their American workers in the good ole USA.
