Disturbing Claim by Hot Air Commenter
UPDATE: Ed Morrissey responds. (*Note- this commenter went on to make more accusations other than the one I linked to in this post.)
Golem’s accusation is absolutely, categorically false. I had nothing to do with Spencer’s status at Hot Air and never even offered an opinion about it. The notion that I “demanded” to Michelle Malkin that Spencer be “fired” is laughable on its face. Since this commenter has decided to post libelous allegations without a shred of proof or reality about me, he’s no longer welcome to post comments at all.

I don’t comment on Hot Air, so I cannot confirm if this is Hot Air policy. Are any of our iOTW readers commenters on Hot Air? If so, I’m asking you to try this out because, frankly, I have to have this confirmed by a trusted reader here before I believe that Hot Air would do this.
This was the thread where the claim was made. If this was the thread where the links were left than it’s possible they could say they were off topic (which would be specious because I find the HA comments usually entirely off topic. It is probably the most off topic group of commenters this side of the Ace of Spades crowd.)
This thread would be on topic for an Atlas Shrugs comment and link. Try it out and let me know what happens.

I really don’t know. I didn’t use profanity, I didn’t make a threat, I was kinda on topic, but certainly on topic as much as the other commenters.
I am guessing here, but it may have been on a thread about mechele and her tastes. Another commenter asked if I could make a cake for her would I do something to it. I replied nothing that would hurt them, but it might be fun to hide words like Go Palin in icing under fondant.
Whatever, it was so innocuous, I felt they were stupid, hasty and harsh.
Good thing that happened, though, because I found better sites like iotw.

Hot Air went south when Michelle Malkin departed.
Ever since LGF Moby and rectal polyp ‘Kilgore Trout’ posted quasi-racist comments on an overnight thread that weren’t immediately removed(Thus trying to demonstrate that a prominent conservative site was inhabited by racists),they’ve become paranoid about any comments of a ethnic,racial or religious nature.

I dropped Hot Air same time I quit the Weasel, and for the same reasons.
I read all over the net but only post on the best sites now : Atlas Shruggs and iOTW are the best.

I think the comment I left earlier today doubled my total relevant input over at HA. Sometimes it’s fun to troll the freaks there and at AoSHQ. They can’t recognize sarc without tags, in bold.
If you scroll up a bit in the thread you can see that golembythehudson has a [censored] for Ed Morrissey over his treatment of Geller and Spencer – for a moment I wondered if BFH was trolling over there too.

All I know is I have FB friends who visit (had visited) Aos and HA and have complained about being banned for stupid shit, or had their comments stripped for no credible reason.

Hey you want to hear something funny? I don’t see so good without my glasses and when I read cakes’ comment about being banned from HA I thought it said “mechele and her testes”.
Frankly I was a bit disappointed after putting the glasses on – I was hoping for one of cakes’ scathing vituperations on the Wookie’s sexuality.

I stopped reading HA for about a year when they gleefully ran every anti-Palin headline they could find. Now that Palin’s out of the race, the “right wing” wants a RINO for POTUS and I couldn’t be more disaffected by this election or country, I’ve started reading them again, mostly out of morbid curiousity.

I don’t comment or have an account at HA, but periodically read the headlines/articles. They’re kind of distant, and sometimes more writer- than reader-friendly.
