UPDATE: Ed Morrissey responds. (*Note- this commenter went on to make more accusations other than the one I linked to in this post.)
Golem’s accusation is absolutely, categorically false. I had nothing to do with Spencer’s status at Hot Air and never even offered an opinion about it. The notion that I “demanded” to Michelle Malkin that Spencer be “fired” is laughable on its face. Since this commenter has decided to post libelous allegations without a shred of proof or reality about me, he’s no longer welcome to post comments at all.
We’ve been having this fight/debate/concern for quite awhile now. Here is a claim by a Hot Air reader -

Yeah, I had links to Pammy shitcanned last hour on this very thread.
Look, we can say shitcanned but we can’t link to her site!

I don’t comment on Hot Air, so I cannot confirm if this is Hot Air policy. Are any of our iOTW readers commenters on Hot Air? If so, I’m asking you to try this out because, frankly, I have to have this confirmed by a trusted reader here before I believe that Hot Air would do this.
This was the thread where the claim was made. If this was the thread where the links were left than it’s possible they could say they were off topic (which would be specious because I find the HA comments usually entirely off topic. It is probably the most off topic group of commenters this side of the Ace of Spades crowd.)
This thread would be on topic for an Atlas Shrugs comment and link. Try it out and let me know what happens.
Here’s an appropriate Atlas Shrugs post that could be discussed. http://atlasshrugs2000.typepad.com/atlas_shrugs/2012/09/freedom-fighters-meet-on-911.html
This was Pamela’s conference at the UN Millenium Hotel on 9/11, a conference that brought freedom fighters together from across the globe to discuss the truth about the advancement of anti-freedom jihad, and what we can do about it.
Our test comment, with a link to Atlas Shrugs, remains on Hot Air.
