Proof: Corrupt Media, Corrupt Polls
Doug Ross
We already knew that legacy media was completely and utterly corrupt, with ironclad confirmation coming in the form of the recent gang-attack conspiracy against Mitt Romney.
Now, @NumbersMuncher (via @AriFleischer) represents graphically that very same corruption. Namely, how most recent Bizarro-Polls show Barack Obama in the lead despite a disastrous economy and a Mideast in flames.

This is my theory….
If the media and pollsters can keep the race between Obama and Romney as close as possible then there wont be any outrage when “SCYTL” tallies up the votes and then reports that Obama wins even though Romney would have had the majority of the votes.

Disastrous economy, MidEast in flames, $4+ gallon gas, Marines & private security guards unarmed, that phone’s been ringing since 3 a.m. This is WORSE than 1979/1980.

I’m actually o.k. with MSM pollsters claiming Obama is in the lead. If your candidate is behind, and the other candidate is anathema to you, you will get off your butt and vote – if for no other reason than to be able to say for the next four years “I didn’t vote for that S.O.B.” But if your candidate is ahead, and you are an occasional voter anyway (many typical Democrat voter blocks frequently have abysmal turnout), you may well say “screw it, my guy will win without me.”
The MSM made Obama in 2008, and despite the fact that his record has been abysmal in virtually all areas of his presidency, they can’t turn against him without losing face. I think their polling numbers either include a lot of wishful thinking (some of the polls predicting the results of the Wisconsin recall election were way off the actual results), or are intentionally skewed so as to boost the reputation of the MSM. I also think that a whole lot of people are fed up with polls, and are actually lying to pollsters.

Ignore the polls although Rassmusen is pretty good. The real poll is 6th of November

Having worked for a polling group many years ago I can tell you that unless you know all the details about question weighting, question ordering, sample selection and weighting and a number of other variables you can’t tell whether a poll is accurate. In fact, these days the poll buyer can pretty well tell the polling firm how to select the sample and pretty well how they want the poll to turn out. It’s damned easy to skew a result and be very subtle about it. These polls that fly in the face of common sense are designed to do a couple of things. The first is to keep up the spirits of the Democrat/Prog supporters to ensure they keep their wallets open and their time available and the second is to discourage Republican/Conservatives enough so that they don’t contribute and stay home of November 6th. Screw the polls, ignore them and follow your own judgement and make sure you vote.
By the by, it’s too bad about how dishonest and in the tank for Obama and the Dems the media is. I suspect a company could be created to honestly interpret and analyse the polls and publish the results if the media were interested in the truth. That’s something I’ll bet a lot of people would be interested in.

scr north — I’m guessing the internal polls done by the campaigns yield real, unbiased results, and if we ever hear about those, they’re the real thing.

@bitterclinger; you’re quite right. The most accurate polls are commissioned by the parties (at least in Canada they were) and are almost always kept top secret. The odd time they were “leaked” was when they were favourable to that party. Right now I suspect that the Dem hierarchy are pissing their pants right now (and a number are shopping their resumes’s) as they read the unvarnished truth of what’s happening in voterland. I hope though that the conservative base redouble their efforts in this election as this is an opportunity to do massive damage to the Democratic party or to be more precise the extreme left minority that’s running the party and at the same time they (conservatives) can gain more control over the Republican party.

My bead on it – I pray I am wrong.
The MSM is covering for the fact that he will go down in flames November, while the WH ignites the world against the US and Israel; spending us into a monetary hole we can never climb out of, and BO will seize power and not discharge the office.
I expect this to happen in October before the 31st.
Romney and Ryan may be attacked and even die in a riot of BO’s making in DC or NYC at this time. The world world will be happy but none us will.
Surprise! Trick or Treat

That should read “further proof”, because the leftist propaganda media has been blatant for decades. Croaking about rigged polls, I hold them in complete contempt. Every time one of them opens his mouth, bullshit spews out.

I’ve said this here before.
In 2004 the democrats overpolled Republicans to make it look like John F’n Kerry was way behind. Then they would increase the number of democrats every so slightly each week to show Kerry moving up. By October, they had Kerry neck and neck (within the margin of error) with Bush; he was the “comeback kid.”
It was all bullshite. But the knuckle-draggers brough it enough to believe Kerry had a chance.
I think the FCC should propose regulations that force every TV news organization to precede the announcement of poll data with the following:
What follows is a political poll. There is a very good chance it is skewed toward those that commissioned it. In this case, the [_______ party ; _____ news organization] commissioned it. It is very likely that this data is completely meaningless. You should not base your voting on the results or interpretation of this poll and you should not accept this poll or the data it contains as fact.
That should be in standard weight typeface in print media as well. No fine print.

Not sure why numbers muncher tweets this “@llmcl Dems had a +7 advantage in 2008. 04 was even, but it is hard to imagine in 2012 we will not see SOME D advantage, although not like 08″ since Gallup points out there’s a serious voter enthusiasm deficiency by the Dems:
Bottom line as others have pointed out, the only poll results that matter are on Nov. 6
