Company Sues ABC Over Pink Slime Stories, Claims Reports Caused Loss of 700 Jobs, Seeks $1B in Claimed Damages

CLAIMS REPORTS CAUSED LOSS OF 700 JOBS, SEEKS $1B IN DAMAGES

Beef Products Inc. sued ABC News, Inc. for defamation Thursday over its coverage of a meat product that critics dub “pink slime,” claiming the network misled consumers into believing it is unhealthy and unsafe.

“For more than 30 years, our family has built and operated companies that are committed to providing consumers with wholesome, safe and nutritious lean beef. We’ve created thousands of good jobs for Americans and our lean finely textured beef has made the leaner ground beef that consumers desire more affordable,” said Eldon Roth, founder and CEO of BPI in a statement.

“The blatantly false and disparaging statements made about our lean beef have done more than hurt my family and our companies; they have jeopardized the future of our employees and their families,” he added.

Unless you ever lived on a farm and killed your own livestock, seen an abattoir, or hunted, chances are most of your meat, – especially volume packaged/pre-processed meat for millions of consumers – is mechanically processed.
Most city folk would get absolutely grossed out by the process, however, it is necessary, sanitary and completely fit for human consumption. So to all you vegans, animal activists and leftards out there, STFU and quit your bitchin!

Your support of anal sex with multiple partners is 100 more unsanitary and diseased plagued.

A lawsuit I can support. If I were on the jury, I’d add on another billion or two, no, I’d add six billion on for mental distress.

I hope Diane Sawyer gets stuck with some of the damages.

Ann Barnhardt had an excellent point on the subject of “pink slime.”

This process uses everything from the bone. It strips the bone to, well…the bone! Everything is then processed and is comepletely fit for human consumption. Nothing is wasted. It is also why McDonalds, Jack in the Box, Burger King, et. al., have a dollar menu. Because this product allows them to charge very little because it keeps costs, and waste, down.

But the libtards would rather you be forced into the $10 burger made from creulty-free beef — so you’ll stop buying them because they’re so expensive. Then the lib-vegans can force all animal processing to stop due to lack of sales. And since there won’t be a McDonalds for those entry level jobs, everyone will be paid a living wage of $20 $25 $50 per hour.

    All hail socialism!

By the way, there are precedents for this. They have things called vegetable libel laws. Remember when Bush 41 said he hated broccoli? The broccoli farmers went ape. Mostly because if the president says he hates it, then kids won’t eat their broccoli by telling their parents, “The president doesn’t eat broccoli!” And the parents will just stop buying it.

Since that type of negative endorsement can hurt sales in a serious way, they have laws to protect the farmers. Same thing for cattle ranchers and meat processors. I think more vocal vegans need to be sued. I’d be willing to sit on the jury.

    Guilty!

Most people are better off not knowing where their food comes from. Not everyone can work in a slaughterhouse. Rightly so.

If the pink slime is what it takes to a) not waste food and b) keep costs down in a high volume industry – and it c) tastes good and d) it is actually healthy and not just “bribe them until they say it’s healthy” then…

    Well…

    Go for it.

Regardless, this lawsuit is obviously justified and has extreme merit. Sue their pants off.
