OT, but-
Hey- I just opened iotw, and got “Firefox prevented a pop-up”
And when I closed the browser I had that goddamn pop-up window still stuck in my browser.
I know that ads bring in much needed revenue, and I have no problem with a sidebar or banner ad-
But that pop-up that stays on when you shut off Firefox is the single most obnoxious stinking thing on the web. I WILL NOT VISIT AMERICAN THINKER, Patheos, and several other sites that otherwise have great content because of that stinkin’ pop up feature.
iotw is my favorite site on the web. PLEASE, for the love o’ pete don’t allow that here.

try some of the firefox privacy and security add-ons.

Ad Block Plus is a good one. Ghostery is another.
Nuke Anything will allow you to remove just about anything until you refresh. If those don’t do it, try No Script and start controlling the scripts you allow — it’s a little bit of work but you can browse much faster when you only use the scripts you need.

Ad Block alone might do it, I’d try that first.

even without firefox you can go to your “internet options” and click the advanced setting, then scroll down to where it asks you 4 different ways with check-boxes how you want “scripts” to run on your ‘puter.

Islam is nothing more than state sponsered terrorism and an excuse to rape, murder, inbreed, be a pedophile, steal, lie, cheat, beat-up women, mutilate & torture anyone who they claim “insulted” their book/prophet/ways,and demand extortion money from those who don’t want to follow those evil ways.

@jwm – You can try Ctrl-Q to QUIT firefox instead of exiting the current window. Take some time to install Session Manager add-on also, that will allow you to keep your session (all your tabs) alive when you quit firefox; personally I have about 10-15 tabs open at all times so I rarely use bookmarks for my favorite sites, and if you close a tab by accident, you can hit Ctrl-Shift-T to reopen the tab instead of reloading the site manually… and Adblock Plus, of course. Good luck.
