    When my father was in his 70s, he had surgery to install a by-pass in his leg because of circulation problems. As November 1988 approached, I told him he could get an absentee ballot. He looked at me like I ate dog meat. On voting day 1988, he drove himself to the polling place, walked inside and voted.

    He got the disabled placard but only used it when he went to the doctor; never at the store or anywhere else.

    And I am amazed at the number of people that can’t drag their lazy @$$ off of the couch and vote.

    @Tony – I agree. They will send out the troops in forces (black panthers, union thugs…) to keep everyone from voting and they will do what’s they can to keep our service men & women from getting their ballots.
