79% of Chicago 8th Graders Not Proficient in Reading

Okay, let’s cut through the crap cake. The teachers unions do not give a corpse fart about “the children.” And when they try and invoke “the children.” spit in their faces, big meaty ones. They are despicable liars. The left is solely responsible for the slide of this country into the shitter.

Chicago Public Schools

CNS

Seventy-nine percent of the 8th graders in the Chicago Public Schools are not grade-level proficient in reading, according to the U.S. Department of Education, and 80 percent are not grade-level proficient in math.

Chicago public school teachers went on strike on Monday and one of the major issues behind the strike is a new system Chicago plans to use for evaluating public school teachers in which student improvement on standardized tests will count for 40 percent of a teacher’s evaluation. Until now, the evaluations of Chicago public school teachers have been based on what a Chicago Sun Times editorial called a “meaningless checklist.”

Does that also equate that 79-80% of the teachers are not proficient?

However, 79% of Chicago 8th graders are proficient enough to vote democratic. They won’t be able to do anything else with this level of education.

Just what the dems want: an entire dependent generation.

She is the perfect example why public employee unions should not be allowed to bargain for pay or benefits. Also note that most of her cohorts could be her twins, in the fact that they are fat, socialist thugs masquerading as teachers. Yep, these are the folks that spend 40 hours a week filling your children’s minds with liberal groupspeak, Chicagoans.

My kid had a teacher in elementary school who insisted that Washington’s birthday was February 21st, because that’s the day President’s Day was that year.
She got annoyed when I asked her what day his birthday was going to be the next year.

Bet she knew exactly when Che Guevara’s birthday was.

Highest paid on average in all of America right?
Well then the results of your efforts should reflect that pay. That means that if 79% of the 8th graders not reading is the best in the country we are in some serious deep *&$# in the future as these kids become tomorrow’s workforce and really scary leaders.
Fire them all and start over. Close public schools entirely and let private schools educate.

The reason the reading percentages are so poor is because of the slave wages they pay those dedicated pedagogical putzes.

What they want is an honest week’s salary for an honest hour of work.I’d say that’s reasonable.

Everything they do is for the chilluns, doncha know!

How much money would they make if their pay was based on results? 13 cents an hour?

OT….my 10 year old daughter asked me yesterday if she would get in trouble with me if she got in trouble at school for telling the teacher she was wrong about evolution and God created the world.

I was so proud. And I told her she would not get in trouble for that as long as she did so with respect…..

If the teachers are now paid only $79,000 before beni’s and 20% of students are proficient, pay the teachers $395,000 and get back to work!!

Over 70% of the “stimulus funds” received by the Chicago school board went into the teachers’ PENSION FUND!!!

    And they want MORE???

@muddjuice — Here in The People’s Socialist Quagmire of California, the lottery ticket computer screens proudly proclaim how much money has gone to the schools. It’s even on the CA Lottery website.

So, tell me again why schools need more and more tax money? Maybe we should take away the lottery money from the schools and put it all in the winner’s pot.

I can remember when the lottery first started here in CA. It’s for the schools! We were told this would ease the need for increased taxes for the schools. Wanna bet? All we did was give them another avenue of funding that they claim they can’t do without. It’s a good thing the amount the schools get from the lottery is fixed by law. Well, with the socialists in charge here, that percentage is fixed, for now.

Turn off the spigot and let the unions bellyache about not having enough money. Welcome to the party, pal!

Take them all to Soldier Field. Announce that raises at double the requested amount will be given. Then announce that only half the positions will be remaining and “We’re gonna have tryouts”. Seal the gates, drop in a bunch of machetes, and film the “team building exercise.”

Throw more money at it! That’s got to work.

Seriously, this pisses me off. I’ve mentioned before that my mom was an English teacher for many years. She taught in a small Texas school system where the graduation rate was something like 99%. No unions. Very few standardized tests. And she surely didn’t make the kind of money that Chicago schoolteachers make.
