    I dig it!

While not as impressive upfront, this is pretty cool too!

I’d like to see if P-Cola’s museum has something similar. I’d love to see if they have a PBM Mariner seaplane there.

Awesome! My dad flew a C-47 like L4 in the museum, and he towed gliders like the one hanging next to it. He would love this.

I’ve seen part of this in a WW2 flight simulator game my son had. Not nearly as detailed though.

I just added it to my favorites. My son wants to be a pilot, and I have passed on my love of WWII aircraft to him. We go to airshows and museums whenever we can. His grandpa worked on B29′s during the Korean war, so it’s in his blood. He’ll be hitting this link and bugging me to go there by tomorrow night.

General Ripper, I grew up just south of Chamblee, Ga, and there was a Naval Air station there which had PBY Catalinas, of all things, hundreds of miles from the ocean! It was decommissioned in 1959, the year before I was born, so I never got to see them flying there, but Peachtree-Dekalb Airport, as it was renamed, was home to a Douglas Skyraider, which we got to see flying occasionally. I still alert to B. F. Radial Engines growling overhead.

My girlfriend’s dad ran the airport in Chamblee. (Nothing’s more fun than a prom dress, a rented Cadillac and wet Georgia red clay.)

If this is the museum at Wright-Pat in Dayton, Ohio, I’ve been there and it is very impressive.

I was just at the SAC museum outside Omaha. It was an awesome place to visit. This is the next best thing though. Very good. Thanks Doc!

I try to get to that museum whenever I’m in Ohio. One of my very favorite museums ever. You can easily spend hours going through the exhibits. Even if you’re not much of an airplane geek, this is an amazing must see place. The history and the exhibits they have from all of the wars is fascinating. I really like the space exhibit – you get a really clear picture of how much the items we use and consume daily are a direct result of the space program. I’ve also met some really interesting people while touring this museum. Did I mention it’s one of my favorites?

Where is the USAF Black Museum wing, the USAF/LGBT wing, the USAF/ADA wing?

And I didn’t see any mention on the plaques detailing how President Obama was instrumental in all of this history. What gives?

I work for and created this Virtual Tour of the NMUSAF. Thank you for all the compliments … we are continually growing and updating the tour with educational links and lectures … we are also updating the Cold War Gallery to include the declassified NRO satellites and Crew Compartment Trainer from NASA, as well as adding internal Cockpit 360 panoramas.
