Staring into the Economic Abyss
Doug Ross-
“A modern-day depression.”
That’s how Mortimer Zuckerman describes the current state of the economy, highlighting an effective 19 percent unemployment rate.
We are experiencing, in effect, a modern-day depression. Consider two indicators: First, food stamps: More than 45 million Americans are in the program! An almost incredible record. It’s 15% of the population compared with the 7.9% participation from 1970-2000. Food-stamp enrollment has been rising at a rate of 400,000 per month over the past four years.
Second, Social Security disability—another record. More than 11 million Americans are collecting federal disability checks. Half of these beneficiaries have signed on since President Obama took office more than three years ago.

In 2008 Mortimer Zuckerman’s NY Daily News endorsed Obama for President. That was when I stopped buying the paper after reading it for 40 or more years. If Zuckerman endorses Romney this time I might forgive him and start buying it again.

WTF is with these abbreviations? In the ‘Hot Dogs’ story the sign said V.A.G
Now this story says E.B.T
What the hell? Can’t these people speak and write English? Where were they raised, in a barn?

I though EBT was for poor people so they could buy food. How do you cook the hair? Do they add meat sauce?

As often as Barry has compared himself to past Presidents, perhaps FDR is most accurate. As the rest of the world rose out of the Great Depression, Roosevelt’s policies kept the U.S. economy suppressed for another 5 years. Notice any similarities?

I don’t need to read anymore…
Pure Saul Alinsky tactics.
oh and by the by…here is one of his favorite quotes….
Lest we forget at least an over-the-shoulder acknowledgment to the very first radical,
From all our legends, mythology, and history (and who is to know where mythology leaves off and history begins — or which is which),
The first radical known to man who rebelled against the establishment and did it so effectively that he at least won his own kingdom — Lucifer.

FOSO — That EBT notice means they accept food-stamp debit cards for payment.
Zuckerman wasn’t alone in his ignorance. Steve Wynn and The Donald were also bragging about what a great prez Odowngrade would be. So much for brainy bidness moguls…

The liberal children have taken an important safety net program and turned it into a free money program to enslave stupid, lazy, dishonest people into selling their votes. The pendulum is swinging the other way. The Dept. of Agriculture SNAP program is going to be eliminated and the states are going to become responsible for their hungry, as they should be. If they don’t wish to provide a “food stamp” type program, then so be it.

So Mortie’s solution is
1. Stimulus
2. More stimulus
3. Stimulus til it hurts
4. Did I mention stimulus?
5. Everybody knows I always go Full Stimulus.
